  Mixed metaphors
Posted by: DILLIGAFF - 28-06-12, 10:35 AM - Forum: General - Replies (8)

I am meeting a pal in London today who is unwittingly a master of the mixed metaphor.

A couple of recent quotes.................  regarding a friend who was struggling............"He's really down on his uppers"  !!

And talking about a waste of time................... "It was a bit of a wild herring"  :rollin :lol

This got me to thinking, and with the vast resources of the FOC-U forum to hand, a new thread is born.

Let's see who can come up with the best examples.

I'll start you off with..................

People in glass houses gather no moss.

That's put a spanner in the ointment.

Beware the wrath of a big stick................................... :rolleyes

I am now selling my much loved gen1. The bike is fitted with an R1 front end, Nitron rear shock, Akropovic can, carbon fibre front mud guard, Pazzo brake and clutch lever  the AIS has been removed and a Dyno-jet kit is fitted to the bike. The bike comes with a private number plate which disguises the age of the bike. I am the 3rd owner and it has covered just under 20,000 miles and comes with service history and all old MOT's to verify the mileage. All of the standard parts will come with the bike.

The bike is in very good condition which you can see in the pictures, to make your own mind up.

I am selling because I have just become a father and so do not have as much time to ride anymore.

£3000 no offers

  IAM "Skill for Life" course...recommended?
Posted by: Buzz - 27-06-12, 12:07 PM - Forum: General - Replies (162)

http://www.iam.org.uk/motorcyclist/the-advanced-programme

It's £139 but the good thing is that you also get 12 months RAC cover worth £109.  I only passed my test about 3 months ago and could do with some proper "post DAS" training I reckon.

Will probably do a "BikeSafe" course first though...only £45.

Any thoughts?

How much oil for oil change?
Posted by: fazer400 - 27-06-12, 12:34 AM - Forum: General - Replies (8)

Ive been searching for a manual for my bike but all i can find is a japenese one. A quick google search for hoe much oil i need also returned no results.

I have a Yamaha Fazer 400 1997 and I am doing a oil change and would like to know if anyone knows how many litres/quarts I will need for the change?

Many thanks in advance!
