  broken bleed nipple?
Posted by: Easy Rider 13 - 01-07-12, 04:34 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (3)

Hey, dreaded thing happened and bleed nipple snapped while trying to bleed the rear brake... still air in there so only have 20% braking on rear...
anyways so my main problem is the numpty who had this bike before has put aluminium EVERYTHING and you only have to look at the bolts and they snap... Need the sizes of the bleed nipples and any of the casing bolts?

more so the bleed nipples as i need these replaced ASAP!

Cheers Guys

  side stand

question.

i have a 98 (T reg) fazer 600, the side stand on that has to be lifted up with the foot before pulling away. now, my dad has a W reg fazer 600 & as soon as you lift the bike up the side stand whips up by itself! when you put it down you have to keep your foot on it. bit of a f*cker to remember when you forget!

is it meant to do that?  oh forgot to mention, his also has a clock & hazard light button where as mine dont. ( im guessing mines one of the first gen1's of the fazer 600 world)

  Hi Guys and Gals!
Posted by: renegaderacer - 01-07-12, 02:29 PM - Forum: Introduction - No Replies

Hi all,

I'm Giles from Epsom, Surrey and have owned my trusty gen1 FZS 600 for about 4 years now, using her for the dialy commute to London and for general hooning around on.  Smile

As she's coming up to her 35,000 mile mark I thought I'd treat her so she's now wearing a full stainless 4-2-1 system with Simmi can, K&N filter, NGK Irridium plugs and Pirelli Diablo Strada tyres.

As the fairings cracked after I dropped her in the snow (D'oh!) I've decided to cafe racer her as I've always loved the look of them, so I'm sure I'll be after everyone's help and advice very soon!

Cheers,

Giles

Triumph 1050 Striple vs Gen1 (modded)
Posted by: sadlonelygit - 01-07-12, 02:27 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (23)

'That's the most sorted bike i have ever ridden, absolutely phenominal!'

'i can't beleive i bought this when i could have one of these. :'( '

just a few of the comments of the striple owner after i let him loose on my bike today :lol

he's a former gen2 owner but didn't gel with it and somehow has managed to avoid having a go on my bike for the last 18 months.

unfortunately i had to ride his bike as well.

good points
bottom end/midrange
the noise
the ergonomics

bad points
stupid lights on the rev counter
front brake is either on or off
suspension was 'crude'.......if i'm kind
stupid fly screen wobbling around at 'ahem' 50+
park bench seat.
the mirrors

unforgivable points
the back brake was weaker than a lib-dems handshake

and a top gear roll on from 50 has the triumph ahead by a couple of yards until the fazer hits 4k, then it's bye bye.

Hello

I'm Derek and on Thursday I bought a Fazer 600 from the year 2000 with only 3.5k miles and useful extras  from a single owner who loved it like a brother.

It has a problem with one or more of  the pilot jets being blocked/gummed up so runs like a single/twin till about 3k revs then clears its throat and runs normally, this will be sorted in due course. This bike is much more fun than my old Bandit!

cheers
