Hi Guys
Just wanted to start this thread to share some or all of the things I love about the FZS600 Fazer! So feel free to share your thoughts or indeed any things that you find annoying about the bike and solutions to the issue!
This could be a great thread or a complete waste of time but here we go!
I bought my 01 box eye fazer with my head, not my heart. I have a history of GSXR's for previous bikes and I still love them! But I have grown to love my fazer as it does everything really well and is easy to live with! It's a work horse, and never complains no matter how hard I ride it or if I miss out on a wash for a few weeks! Most importantly, it never fails to put a smile on my face and sane speeds with truly useable power, something most sports bike riders will achieve in day to day road life!
It's not a perfect bike by any means, however it's quite close and it won't take much to make it so!
Last but not least, any newbies asking the question, should I buy a fazer for my first bike? My answer is, you'd be stupid if you don't!

Right.
Will have to relate this tale on here, cos if I tell the wife she will throw the biggest wobbler since the invention of wobblers!
Here goes.....
Decided to grab a quick shower before tea tonight. Suitably washed and scrubbed, I grabbed the towel off the back of the bathroom door and began to dry off, starting with the upper body and gradually working southwards so to speak.
Wrapped the towel around my waist for a moment as I stepped out of the shower, in order to continue the drying process in a more spacious environment, and when I removed the towel, well.........
Not quite sure how it managed to stay within the confines of the towel during the whole process, but there was this....
Spider. :eek
Now, I'm not generally squeamish about these kind of things, but...
Lets just say it had become intimately acquainted with yours truly without even kissing me first!!!!!!!!! :eek :eek :eek
Could have sworn it even tipped me a sly wink, in a feminine way of course
Suffice to say I may have had a bit of a tizzy fit and done an excellent naked arm flap around the bathroom.
Now I know that may sound a bit of an over reaction, but for some reason I suddenly had this image of little venom dripping fangs far too close to where a chap really does'nt want that kind of thing going on.
So, with that image in my head, toilet 1, arachnid 0.
One large glass of wine and three cigs later, I managed to look back on the event and laugh, nervously, but for some reason its not an experience
I would like to repeat anytime soon.
Or ever.
And SWMBO has a mortal terror of the little eight legged critters, and will never, ever hear about this.
I hope :\

I am trying to fit the R&G crash bungs: The off side went on relatively easily however the nearside M10 bolt would not come out after removing the nut.
I had a pair of those clamping pliers (cannot remember what you call them) and twisted and pulled on the bolt spraying wd40 on, no joy.
In the end I cut the head of the bolt off and knocked it back through.
What had happened was the thread of the bolt was catching on the metal bush because the bolt was askew in the tunnel. Of course now putting the new bolt through is pushing out the bush...............
Does anyone know of a way to get the components to line up properly? I have tried a jack on the sump to lift the engine slightly, that did'nt help, would it be best to loosen all the front engine mounts?
cheers
Derek
