  Gear box shaft replacement
Posted by: NotAnotherHill - 22-07-12, 01:04 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (8)

It looks like the thread on the end of the gear box shaft has been damaged by the locknut coming loose from the front sprocket. Anybody know how big a job to is to get it replaced or whether the end can have a new thread cut in? Any idea on cost for labour etc would be useful if I have to take it to the local mechanic.

  Fazer VS CBF600S
Posted by: Slaninar - 22-07-12, 08:48 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (4)

Been teasing my friend, a Honda owner, that Honda is for pensioners, it's dull, etc...

Then, yesterday, I gave her sister my fazar for a spin. So far, the sis has been learning on the friend's CBF600s. Sis came back with a big grin and said something like: "this bike is so much better!"    Just thought I should share it. Smile

  Hello
Posted by: fz6.london - 21-07-12, 09:16 PM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (1)

Hi guys, I am Charlie from London. I am a proud owner of a Fazer and have throughly enjoyed it however very sadly I am parting company. It is in the classified section if anyone is interested. I may well buy myself a new FZ8 next year - who knows... They are fantastic bikes I think. I look forward to hearing from anyone if they are interested and would be happy to tell you more about it. I have done quite a bit to it as it has been a bit of a passion of mine for the last few years - you will see from the listing and the photos.

Thanks!

  Fz6 for sale - London
Posted by: fz6.london - 21-07-12, 09:12 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (1)

I am selling my Yamaha FZ6 (S2) 2008 (08 plate). It has a full yamaha service history - also just been MOT'd 16/07/2012 and about to be re-taxed too.

£3,494

The bike has just under 10,300 miles on the clock - most of the miles I have done in the dry, other than the odd (more frequent now!) occasion I have been caught out in the rain.
The bike comes with both sets of keys and alarm fobs + master key, alarm override, manual and service book. It also has most of the receipts for any servicing and parts. Extras:

  • Full fairing - looks great and keeps the weather off
  • Top Sellerie custom seat - have the original too which can go with the bike
  • Scorpion exhaust with removable baffles which sounds amazing!! + original one in great condition having only been used for 4k miles
  • Centre & side stand
  • Back box bracket (genuine Yamaha)
  • Back box (46L) (colour coded silver + genuine Yamaha - think its made by Givi for Yamaha)
  • Inner case for back box (genuine Yamaha)
  • Alarm and immobiliser  (Yamaha specific - defcom-t & YISS)
  • Chrome 'FAZER' radiator cover
  • Chrome brake reservoir cover
  • FZ6 tank protector
  • Tinted rear light
  • Clear indicators all round
  • Could throw in chain and disc lock if this is your first bike... also there is a full oxford stormex cover which can be bought with the bike

It currently has a Starcom Digital Intercom system installed.  I would like to keep this but would consider offers on as it is nicely installed and ready to go. If you do not want it I can remove before sale.

Just had a major service in June.Tyres are good - font very new and rear half worn I would think.Chain and sprockets good order also.
The bike is in great condition - there are a few very minor bodywork scratches here and there from it being parked in London bike bays from time to time (see photos). Mechanically the bike is in great condition. The reason for sale is that I am wanting to change to a naked street bike which is better for what I use it for. This bike has been truly fantastic and has not missed a beat. The full fairing is great at keeping the worst of the weather and wind off - it handles very well whether it be on the motorway or on the twisty B-roads of Yorkshire.

Priced to sell.

If you are interested please contact me via eBay or phone - (07079) 023949. No time wasters please.

  good day for biking!
Posted by: caretaker - 21-07-12, 06:48 PM - Forum: General - Replies (2)

first proper thrash on the fazer 6 in the dry and loved every minute! lots of plod about though. the local mecca for bikes (llandovery) was heaving with power rangers posturing with their gleaming steeds, so i moved on up to the nearest burger van with a good number of proper bikers there. cracking day though.

Gen 1 1000 Corbin Style seat for sale
Posted by: Tmation - 21-07-12, 04:24 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (1)

I bought a second had seat and had it modified by Digger Seats in Wales. I asked for an extra 1" of seat height but he has added about 2".

It has been modified in the Corbin Style and has additional foam for comfort. The additional seat height makes it more comfortable on the knees as it opens then up a bit.

I am 31" inside leg and can just get my toes on the ground now and my dad (who I share the bike with), who has a 30" inside leg can't touch the ground with both feet.

It has only been on the bike to try it and for these photos, so it it as new.

You will need to have 32" inside leg or more for this to work.

It cost me £195 including second hand seat, new seat bracket and nut and all the modifications, I would like £150 if anyone is interested.

In North West Nr Liverpool Airport if you want to try before you buy.
