Any one know what speed you're doing on a 06 FZ6 when you hit the limiter in first and second gears, yes I know I could look at the speedo but I'm looking where I'm going? not hit it in third gear (yet), thanks.

I'm sure there a few out there that have changed the gearing and dropped down a tooth on the front sprocket. Am I right in thinking that the standard is 16 and dropping down will make a significant difference to acceleration, I am aware that the top end speed will be compromised but not sure of how much.....any replies on this subject will be very much appreciated.

Here you go. All the info for the ride that Ian starts on Saturday afternoon from Silverstone. Ian Sinclair a Racesafe Marshall for the BSB will be riding off from Silverstone on 30th September(BSB Weekend) and riding to 18 British race circuits over 14 days. Thats over 2,800 miles. Tracks to be visited are Rockingham, Cadwell, Mallory, Croft, Knockhill, Donnington, Snetterton, Blyton Park, Bedford, Goodwood, Thruxton, Castle Combe, Anglesey, Abingdon, Scarborough(Olivers Mount) a full 38 mile lap of Isle of Man TT circuit arriving back at Brands Hatch on the Friday 12th October ready for the end of season race. The Chris Jones riders fund has pushed the medical support at BSB events fowards from the tradition of a very basic emergency stablisation to a more holistic medical service. The xray machines means that riders with no fracture know this within minutes and if there is no other injury are able to ride in the next session. Previously, travelling to hospital and long waits in the emergency department took most of the day up meaning missing out qualifying or the race. The CJ Riders Fund also provides specialist physios at every BSB round, as well as all the medical equipment from neck braces to a plaster. Anyone wishing to sponsor Ian can go to http://www.cjridersfund.com and then to the events page where you can read more and then follow the link to the just giving page and the rest is up to you. http://www.justgiving.com/cjrfPleased to say all the team from RG Racing have donated over £200 alone. Plus a few riders from various series stock 600's 1000's 125's TTC have also helped raise money for Ian to go towards a great cause.
This ride is looking for support to join in for the last leg from Lydden race circuit, to make a grand entrance to Brands Hatch on Thursday 11th October, I am planning to ride from Lydden as soon as I know the leaving time will post to Group.

Anyone around Lymington Hants for a monthly meet? I live in Lymington and am still quite new to the club and as yet still not ridden the Fazer due to having a busted leg at first but also the bike i bought was absolutely desperate for chain and sprockets which i am almost finished with now. I had 2 nuts on the rear sprocket which were seized so i am replacing all of them.
There are a few good pubs here in Lymington serving good food and good beer (even though we can't drink much and ride) but there is one on the A337 near Pennington Cross with sofa's and would i am sure welcome the additional customers. In the warmer weather there is also a nice outside area. If there are a few people up for a meet at some point in the near future then i would be pleased to meet up. Nothing formal, just a drink and a natter.Rich.

| Jittery at low revs - FIXED |

Thought i'd let you know that my 'jittery' problem at low revs has been sorted this morning.
I'd changed spark plug caps, gapped the plugs and put a K&N filter on the bike, which in my personal opinion improved it a lot at first then it went back to being jerky again in any gear, just as i put a little throttle on.
So i had the bike into PDQ this morning and it went straight onto the rolling road for a Dyno test.
I actually watched the test and was shown that there wasn't too much of a difference on the graph comparison from the last time i had it done when i had a carb overhaul?
The thing is that immediately after 3000rpm it takes off without even a hint of a splutter so it was traffic that was an issue for me, and unfortunately most of my ride to and from work is in traffic so it was important to me that it was working properly.
After being advised that another carb strip down would 'probably' be a waste of time, i opted just for the carb balance for now to see if that would help?
And that was it, he found that the carbs were well out of balance! I'm not sure why they were so far out, because they haven't been touched at all, but as soon as i pulled away from the yard i could feel and hear the difference straight away. Happy days!
One thing that i will mention though which took me a bit by surprise, is that he told me that K&N filters hardly make any difference to the Fazer 600's at all compared to a stock paper filter, whereas a bike like a Suzuki Bandit for instance would have a very noticeable difference! Even more so when people clean them and oil them wrongly and then they don't work as they should.
Seeing as my bike was showing 85bhp on the Dyno last time it was there and now it was showing about 84.5bhp, then maybe it's true, even though it feels like it can breathe a lot better to me?
Anyway, i've got 50,000 miles of air filter left to worry about that, so for now i'll just enjoy it as it is!
