Guys, can the rev counter cover be removed?

Mine appears to have been wiped over with a dirty cloth. I thought it was on the outside but nothing will get the marks off, so it has to be inside?

  '54 FZS1000 FOR SALE
Posted by: SEPTIKANGEL - 21-09-12, 12:49 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (5)

Galaxy Blue, ' 54 plate, 2nd owner, 9454 miles, genuine mileage. MOT & Tax, Datatool alarm/immobiliser. Factory crash bungs, but never used. Ivans Full monty professionally (Mike) fitted carb. kit with K&N filter. Exup valve working well with stainless bolts.  Iridium plugs. 135+bhp at rear wheel  yet able to return 55mpg with avarage of 49mpg. 21ltr tank allows 200 miles between refills. In standard trim with Beowulf road legal silencer and standard. Meticulously maintained, always garaged. Good C&S and tyres, recent battery, needs nothing. Not desperate to sell as I do love this bike, it does everything for me, but I've had it for 3 years, simply fancy a change and Adventure bike beckons. Need to get that outta my system then I'll probably get another Gen1  :rolleyes .  Very, very good condition although small scratch on tank.  No rust or flaky paint on engine/chassis as it's never been used in winter or when bad weather, leisure bike only used by mature owner of 54yrs. Includes Genuine Yamaha rack and smaller screen, not fitted at present. £3,195 ONO Advertised elsewhere but on offer here to any foccer at £2995 for quick sale.
Oh yeah, I'm in Maghull, North of Liverpool, just South of Ormskirk, Lanc's.
PM me if you're interested.

  Hi everyone !!!!
Posted by: macca59 - 21-09-12, 10:55 AM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (2)

Hi all, i've just got my first Fazer. It's a 2006 FZ6. Had it a week now. Got it last Friday and did 500 miles on it over the weekend with the wife on her 600 Diversion. Had several bike's in the past Hornet 600, Yam's, XJR1300, FJR1300, MT-01, Goldwing 1800 and a Varadero 1000 which was traded in to get the Fazer. I was a bit hesitant about getting it as i have arthritis in my knee's and worried that it may not suit me. But i can say after 500 mile's it was totally comfortable.
I live jut outside Selby, North York's. Spend quite a bit of time at Squires cafe bar at Sherburn. If any of you get there, give us a shout, we can have a natter and a coffee. Oh nearly forgot i'm Ian an my wife is Angie.

Stay safe you lot and hope to catch some of you out there..

  Bike Test
Posted by: Dave48 - 21-09-12, 09:21 AM - Forum: General - Replies (3)

Reading all the posts on "When/Where?What did you learn on, I forgot to mention my actual tests. First occasion 1965 9am Monday morning Exeter test centre on really tatty Lambretta LD 150 (only 10 careless owners & well battle-scarred). The most nerve=wracking part was waiting in the room to be called out by examiner with clip board. Long story short I FAILED(cant remember why now) but I do recall feeling very depressed riding home with the L plates still on.
Second test 12 months later on smart Lambretta TV 175 and timed my arrival just before due time. This time I was confident having just come back from touring holiday 2 up with mate who had full bike licence so I was used to riding fully laden & I had built up experience/confidence so recall doing the circuits & emergency stop/hand signals/observations-it was literally 3 times round the block & a couple of Highway Code questions-then joy of joys-"Pink Slip"-and straight down County Hall to get the proper Red licence :lol .
Have a friend (born again) who is currently going through the procedure-has done his Theory & CBT just waiting to do his on/off road at beginning of Oct.Glad I did mine when I did! :lol

  Editing in the General forum
Posted by: Farjo - 21-09-12, 07:23 AM - Forum: General - Replies (7)

As some of you may recall, editing in the General forum (and Moans'n'Groans) was taken away by the then Admin because people were making threads unreadable by editing their posts after the event. Although this has improved readability, it's been a pain for others.

So there's now a 'mod' (modification) that allows members to edit their posts, but changes are logged so that anyone who wants can see the original post. This is active in all forums.

Thanks to the volunteers who took the time to give it a whirl and provide feedback :thumbup

ps I've edited this post to add this line to show how it will look: click where it says "Last edited..." for more details.
