Bristol Foccers - Blanket 20MPH speed limit
Posted by: pointer2null - 17-09-12, 08:51 PM - Forum: General - Replies (9)

I don't know if you've heard but the idiots at the council want to introduce a blanket 20MPH speed limit across Bristol. It's going to cost £2.3 million to do this. That money has come from a grant for sustainable transport.  BBC Link

If you think that money could be better spend improving cycle paths, pedestrian crossings, road junctions and traffic light sequences, then sign the online petition (click for link) and if you can email or write to your councillor (link for councillor finder) expressing what a stupid idea this is.

So if you don't want Bristol to become a playground for the scamra van sign the petition and pass this on to as many Bristol friends as you can

Doing a brands hatch GP circuit track day with Rence on Wednsday and to pass the GP circuit noise regs i have to put on the OE pipe. (can pass the indy circuit with the blue flame and both baffels easy and on a good day 1 baffel for the indy)
now the bike has full monty ivans and ignition advancer fitted.

went for a spin and some asshole as stolen a huge amount of midrange and a big dollop of top end power Sad
it is SO noticable when comming out of bends and you crack it open as there is no midrange to pull you through.

mind you its also a long time since i have ridden the bike for much more than commuting and charity runs. just went out for an hour fun and no matter how hard i tried i couldnt get the pegs down and even have a SLIGHT chicken strip of about 2-4mill Sad unheard of

Gen 1 - slight clonk from rear.
Posted by: JayB - 17-09-12, 12:28 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (17)

Sometimes when pulling off I can hear a little clunk from the bike.

Wheel / bearing feels OK, SLIGHT wear in swingarm bearing in an up and down motion I noticed as I loosened the axle nut prior to chain tightening.

Bike has only done 20k, so I'm a bit unsure what it is, as I did think about cush drive in passing, but that's not likely to cause a clunk is it?

any ideas / past experience?

  Scary discovery...!
Posted by: JayB - 17-09-12, 12:25 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (11)

Being that my bike is new to me, and reading stories of front sprockets wearing / undoing etc, I decided to whip the front cover off yesterday, before going out with a mate for a "quick Sunday blast" for a couple of hours.

So, off it comes.... The most accumulated amount of chain Goo I have EVER seen on any of my bikes, so bad it looks like an oil leak when you lean down..! and in the collected shit, I find, nestling below the front sprocket a 50mm long M4 caphead bolt! NICE

Sprocket looks fine, chain is decent, it did seem to have a bit of a tight spot after I bought the bike, but 100 miles+ and some chain lube have sorted it out nicely, think it was sat idle for a few months prior to me buying her.
Tab washer in place and plenty of thread showing, so I didn;t actually check for tightness, now playing on my mind...

  Fan oven advice
Posted by: Streetbudgie - 17-09-12, 10:32 AM - Forum: General - Replies (8)

OK, new house came with a Belling Country Chef 924 range cooker which has a fan and convection oven.

Neither worked well until I discovered both door seals were gone, replaced those (£70 ouch) and the convection oven is now fine, however:

The fan oven doesn't turn off when it reaches temperature, no matter what you set it on the heating light stays on and only goes out when you turn it right down, I'm guessing this is the thermostat but have no clue as to where it is or how to change it.

Any ideas or point me to a forum that might know?
