  ECU replacment
Posted by: dolau - 26-09-12, 09:53 AM - Forum: General - Replies (4)

Just a quick update

My ECU failed on my FZ6S2 due to corrosion on the pins with a £600 price tag for an OEM virgin Yamaha replacement

Those nice guys at motomatric.co.uk sold be a second hand ECU that they had fettled to be a virgin ECU and just heard from the bike shop that it is working and my bike is back on the road for £170!  Smile

Who's a happy bunny then!

I want to do my own servicing and maintenance: which online resources?
Posted by: darren_uk - 26-09-12, 01:30 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (11)

Hi,

I'm a commuter riding 45 miles/day since 5 months on a 2003 FZS600 (that I bought for the purpose: so bought it end April 2012)

I want to do my own maintenance and servicing.

Could you let me know your helpful online resources (e.g. the online equivalents of the Haynes manual)?  And should I get a Haynes manual for this bike?

I want to also slowly put a tool-kit together for this purpose:  can you help me with what I'd need and spanner sizes?  Also where to buy them / is Halfords an ok-place to buy?

  new entry!!!
Posted by: So Confused - 25-09-12, 10:05 PM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (5)

Hello everyone,

my name is Devid and I am Italian, but in London from 7 months. In Italy I have got a fazers2 colour black. It has been my first motorbike that I enjoyed so much. I love going abroad in Summer (my favorite country is Austria) and riding it on the track. My father came to London with his motorbike when was young and he slept while was driving it, but just for a moment  :z

Unfortunately, this picture is the only one I have in my PC. I made a few changes as forks R6 04/05 and rear suspension FG Gubellini, handlebar Rizoma and this one below that I don't know how do you say in English  :o  Height risers 3,6 cm.

Sorry for my English, but I am still studying it!

My 16 year old son has taken an interest in photography lately, so was looking to buy him a good starter DSLR, he has done a bit of research himself and came up with the Nikon D3100.

Have read some reviews and done a bit of googling but as I aint a camera keek was hoping to get someone on here with a bit of knowledge. I know there are a few of you out there so any help on the best budget dslr would be great.  Smile

  Weedy horn
Posted by: dazza - 25-09-12, 06:37 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (50)

Hello fellow Focc'ers, have seen in the past some threads about a decent replacement horn. Mine is a little short of pathetic and have had several instances where I have really wanted to give someone a good warning blast  but have only been left feeling totally inadequete and slightly embarrassed. So, can anyone point me in the right direction and restore my ability to get noticed  when it matters. Cheers. Smile

May have found a US bike
Posted by: breadlord - 25-09-12, 03:32 PM - Forum: General - No Replies

Some lad is selling his son's bike because he can't be trusted, apparently. So I might be getting a Honda CB900 dirt cheap.

Apparently it's been left in a garage for two months and now isn't running. Rather than telling him to fix it and buy it running, thinking of telling him to leave it and buy it as a non-runner so I can hammer him on price. What do you reckon? Service the carbs and it should be alright?

Carbs. Blech. It's the 21st century, people. Get with the fuel-injected cool kids, people.
