  Speedo jumping
Posted by: alexanderfitu - 29-12-12, 02:54 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (2)

A new issue has cropped up today. My first ride in this bike in the rain and the speedo (especially at 30 mph) is jumping around all over the place. I am thinking that there is a break in the cable somewhere that is getting grounded with the rain as its spot on when dry. does anybody know where the connector from the front speed sensor ends up so I can check continuity etc?

  Another newbie!

Hi Guys & Girls!

My name is Dan and i'm new to Fazers. Picked up my Gen 1 FZS1000 on the 23rd, but have only been able to use it a few times as of yet! Must say, I'm really pleased with it and it seems to go.......well! My previous bikes are Honda's CBF600 and a CB500, so very different bikes!

Has taken me a few days to find the forum but am now signed up!

It's got a few extra's but nothing really "modified". Have now taken the rear rack off and put the grab handles back on.

Here's a little pic of her :

  1-2 gear change
Posted by: alexanderfitu - 29-12-12, 01:16 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (33)

Hi all

Im still getting used to my 2001 fazer, but gear changes from 1st to 2nd are clunky and occasionally crunch and doesnt engage 2nd properly.

I am pulling the clutch in all the way. My question is if this is normal, I have heard they are clunky, and if it is then im happy Smile  Keep in mind it doesnt jump out of any gears, just fails to engage 2nd sometimes.

Mark 1 FZS 600 Parking light socket/wire thing
Posted by: Rich - 28-12-12, 05:51 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - No Replies

Hey guys,
Still re-building my 1999 Fazer after the silly lady felt the need to drive into it's face.
Just bought a headlight unit off one of you guys, anyone got a parking light socket thing? There's simply a hole where it should be in the square eye casing  :\
Part number: 5DM-84312-00.
Unless of course, I dont need one to pass the MOT when I have it tested for road-worthiness again?!  :lol
Thanks,
Rich.

  Bike Valuation
Posted by: JoeRock - 28-12-12, 03:10 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (4)

After a quick rough valuation for a Fazer 1k, so thought I'd pop it up here and see what you all thought:
05 Model in the red/black colour scheme, got 20k on the clocks.
Good condition, few extras including a scottoiler, tinted screen, scorpin exhaust, rad cover, crash bungs, fender extender and hugger.
Some service history, just had the big one. Chain and sprockets replaced recently, tyres look pretty good too.

So, what should I be looking to pay?

  Rev Counter 0 to 3k
Posted by: bigandyuk1 - 28-12-12, 11:26 AM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (11)

Hi, I am new to the forum and new to my gen 1 fazer. I have owned the bike for just over a week. I purchased it privately and rode it 50 miles home without issue. When I rode it to work on day two of my ownership it seemed to be hessitating below 3000rpm but if i gave it a handful of throttle it would pull hard with no problems. I have bought a service kit and intened to go through it this weekend. This morning on the way to work the rev counter suddenly dropped to 0 and then went up to 3k where it stayed for a couple of seconds and then returned to normal. After this had happened the bike was very smooth with no hessitation!!!! then the hessatation returned and a few miles later everything repeated itself (smoothing out again after the faukt had been shown). Ant thoughts greatly appreciated. :eek
