Quote:A riding plan that relies on exceeding the speed limit to complete a manoeuvre is unacceptable. If you consistently exceed the speed limit the examiner will stop the test and you will fail.

Gold Wheels sold, Renntec sold, Blueflame open to offers,........ Gen 1 1000
Posted by: Mick-H - 29-12-12, 10:23 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (19)

So I've bought the bike now to turn it in to my bike, once I've sold some stuff.
Gold Wheels and Metz Roadtec Z8 tyres £320 inc P&P £300 if you can pick them up, I'll post mileage of tyre's once I find out off MadDogMcQ
Stainless Steal Blueflame Twin Port exhaust £85 inc P&P £75 if you can pick up, not a clue how old it is but it is in good nick 7.5/10.
Renntec rack only a couple of months old as new £55 inc P&P £50 if you can pick up.

Tyres have covered approx. 2000 miles, new wheel bearings were fitted at the same time as the tyres.

  Shelves and Shelving
Posted by: Grahamm - 29-12-12, 08:21 PM - Forum: General - Replies (11)

Due to an increasing amount of junk valuable possessions, I need to put up some more shelves in my bedroom as an alternative to everything being filed under "F" for "Floor", so I hope the Foc-U fount of all knowledge can help.

I'm looking at getting some of the "twin slot" shelving uprights with the brackets you can simply hook into place to allow me to change the depth of the shelves according to what I'm putting on them, however what I need to know is a) what should I use for the shelves and b) will I just need a bracket at each end or one in the middle as well?

The space I have available is approximately 54" wide, so if I put two brackets 18" apart to divide this into thirds, would that work, or should I put one closer to each end and a third one in the middle to stop the shelves sagging under the load?

At least a couple of them are liable to have books on them and, at a rough weighing, 12" of books is about 3.3kg or 7.5lbs (which works out at about 5kg or 11lbs over 18").

AFAICS the brackets and uprights should be strong enough to carry the weight, I just want to avoid the shelves bending (or even breaking).

Anyone got any useful advice?

Do you need leathers for a track day?
Posted by: Bracechenko - 29-12-12, 05:55 PM - Forum: General - Replies (16)

As above really, i have 2 piece textiles and dont really want to buy leathers just for a track day. Is it every track or do they vary regarding what you can and cant wear?

Peace out Smile

Back on the site, second time owner.
Posted by: Mick-H - 29-12-12, 05:54 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (2)

Quick reintroduction, I spent 6 years on the site as Mick-FZ1 after buying a Red Fazer 1000 in 2002, sold that in 08 and over the next 4/5 years I've had several different bikes, Pan euro, Speedmaster, VFR750 and 3 C90's  Big Grin  but always missed my Fazer. :'(
Around this time last year I started looking for a Fazer again and came close on a couple of occasions, anyway, last week I swapped my VFR for a Fazer with MadDagMcQ, so I'm back where I belong bike wise and over the coming weeks/months/years you'll see me hanging around.
Looking forward to getting back in to Fazer ownership and turning my bike back in to the bike I should never have sold in the first place.
Keep an eye on the classified section as some parts will be being sold on so that I can put my own stamp on things.
Cheers Mick-H
