New rear tyre fitted last week and put the wheel back in all by myself, as far as I can tell its all gone in fine, no bits left chain slack is within tolerance etc.
Took it for a ride yesterday (90 mile) and there is a constant whirling/whine noise. Its not engine because it the same with clutch in etc. It correlates and changes with bike speed.
Can't remember if it was there before. Am i being paranoid or have i done something stupid?

Evenings guys,
Looking at buying a set of Givi E21s and side racks off a fella on here, and had a couple questions about them? In the photo he's sent me, the indicators have been relocated up onto the topbox rack, and then there's a metal brace going between the pannier racks through the indicator holes? I'm sure I've seen givi panniers on bikes for sale though with the indicators in the usual place, so is this back brace not really needed, or is it a different type of rack or something?

I comute on my bike every day and while I do keep a good eye on my mirrors and have a good feel for what's approaching and around me I always lifesave before commiting to a manouver (lane change, roundabout exit etc).
99% of the time there is nothing there and all is good, but today, came off a round about onto a dual carriageway (slow lane), wanted to over take the slower cars in my lane and make progress, did my usual life saver and there it was, a car toally in my blind spot! Rolled off the throttle slightly, let him pass, checked mirrors, 2nd life saver and I'm off in the overtaking lane, no dramas It just made me realise that no matter how often there is nothing there, sometimes there is!
Why am I writing this? Because I see a lot of riders (mainly learners) who just indicate and pull out into traffic and one day, they will be knocked off! Never underestimate the power of the life saver..........

It's been a mad old few months, having gone from never been on a motorcycle to a fully fledged biker commuting into London everyday. I've learnt a lot along the way, so I've put together a bit of a blog, to try and document all the ups and downs and pass on some tips from what I've learnt along the way. Since my first bike is a lovely Fazer, I figured you all might find it interesting. Have a gander and I'd much appreciate your feedback: Beginner Biker Adventures

Can anyone tell me the fork length for a Generation 2 FZ1 Fazer please? That's the one with USD forks and measured from the flats of the fork top (ignoring the preload adjuster) to roughly centre of the wheel axle. Preferably with the bike weight on the wheels without rider.
Are the forks adjustable for compression and rebound damping?
Thanks.
