  ZX9R Clutch lever
Posted by: JoeRock - 28-01-13, 03:24 AM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (1)

Well had this on for a couple days now, and have only just noticed something about it today.
The original switch on the FZS was a two pin one, and the Kwak one is a 3 pin - luckily you can still get the wiring connector on the Fzs loom to attach to the kwak switch, and i didn';t think anything of it as the switch still cut out the sidestand if it was down and the bike was put into gear.
However, what i noticed today was that you actually have to put the bike into neutral to start it, rather than just squeezing the clutch in and hitting the button.
How did other people get around this, or did you more live with it?

  Hi all !

Hi all other Fazer owners, I'm a newly DAS biker and have proudly taken ownership of a virtually mint Fazer FZS600, 1999.
I got the bike last october before passing my test, and have enjoyed fettling ever since!
I'm sure there's loads of info on here that'll help me over the coming months / years, and I hope I can put a bit back in too!
It's being prepared for my first trip to France in July at the moment, Givi luggage all sorted, and general service items covered, I think!

Seeing Deadeye's pic in Meets section gave me an idea.

Pictures of your FOC-U salutes.

Here's one that Tori took of me and Roger.

  exup cables - adjuster covers?
Posted by: bludclot - 27-01-13, 10:12 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (2)

i can't believe that this is the third winter that i've owned my fazer! so this is the third time that i've stripped and cleaned and lubricated the exup valve...  this year however the lower cable (at the valve end) is too loose. having read haynes and pat's page on adjustments i found that where i was expecting my cable adjustment nuts there's just plastic sheathing type covers. i can't seem to slide them away easily enough so 2 questions:

are these normally fitted?

should i simply cut them away?

Easter belated xmas new year foccer meet up :) Apr 28th
Posted by: Tori - 27-01-13, 05:28 PM - Forum: Events, Meets, Ride outs etc - Replies (62)

I was sad to miss the xmas meet up, so if everyone would like to, it'd be good to meet up at the Colchester Embassy chinese again?
On Lum's recommendation, there is to be no secret santa, but everyone has to bring an easter egg! ;-)
Can we think on a date? A sunday, not the second sunday of the month, in march/april/may?

  DIY luggagae rack
Posted by: stevierst - 27-01-13, 05:22 PM - Forum: FZS600 - Replies (59)

Been looking for a luggage rack to carry my rather large kit bag to work. Couldn't find one big enough, so I knocked one up from bits of box section I had lying around.

Renntec run in fear, stevies own rack has landed! Cost about a tenner too Smile)

  Spurious Oil Warning Light
Posted by: philshaq - 27-01-13, 04:12 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (18)

Hi everyone!

Its been a while since I've been on here. new born and the missus not being well has meant I've been using the car to get to work and the 600 has been under cover. I've periodically started it and done some maintenance (sticking pistons on the front brakes gear lever sticking) that has been caused by the weather and lack of use (can't wait to get it in a garage!)

One thing I'm not able to sort though is the oil warning light being on, it was a bit low (bottom of the viewing glass) but I've topped up and its still staying on... Its a bit un-nerving even though I know there is enough oil in the engine now.

I'm going to be riding it too and from work all week and don't really want to do any damage, could it be a dodgy connection??

All comments appreciated as always guys.

Anyone clued up on Harley's ?
Posted by: wannafazer - 27-01-13, 01:11 PM - Forum: General - Replies (28)

My touring buddy has just weighed his 1050 Triumph in for a FatBoy special :rollin

I've had a squint and it is a good looking bike, if you must ride a motorised sofa then this looks a good choice.

Obviously I am taking every opportunity to smirk at him and mess with his mind. I've already rang him this morning to discuss the generous lean angles on this beast, 25.6 degrees to the right and a full 25.2 degrees to the left.

On the plus side the bike weighs in at a svelte 330kg :lol

But I've scoured the internet and I can't find the power output. Harley don't mention it.

Anyone ?

  Quick car insurance question.
Posted by: DILLIGAFF - 27-01-13, 12:42 PM - Forum: General - Replies (17)

Just sold my trusty old Audi but will not have a replacement for about 3-4 weeks.

I am worried that if I inform my insurers and cancel the existing cover they may not allow me to carry over my NCB??

Any brokers on site ?????????????
