  Hi all....
Posted by: mcsuffolk - 24-02-13, 10:38 PM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (6)

Hi all.....

This is the first time I've embraced the modern age and joined something like this, so please be gentle with me... Big Grin

I am the dark side of 40 and live in Suffolk..... Always been into bikes and currently have a general 2 faired fz1s, a 2005 fz6s, an er6 and a k1 hayabusa..... Mostly commute on my bikes and ride an fjr1300 for work......

Fairly handy with the spanners and have tinkered with lots of bikes over the years.....

Bought the fz6s a few years ago now as I needed a cheap decent commuter and loved it..... So went and bought the fz1 end of last year but haven't really been able to use it much since with the weather and needing to do a few bits on it to get it right.....

  Lights dead, help!
Posted by: ChristoT - 24-02-13, 10:36 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (12)

Evening all.

I have a strange problem with my '01 FZS. The tail lights don't come on, whereas the front headlamp and hazards work fine.

I had the bike in bit earlier, trying to source the problem. I think it comes from the ignition, the circuit to the ignition connector to the rear bulbs is OK (as are all fuses). Has anyone else had a problem like this, or know any potential solution? Problem is, I'm now confined by daylight, or risk having an unpleasant conversation with Mr Plod!

Any help appreciated!

Can i do this with a Mac Machine?
Posted by: glynblue2 - 24-02-13, 04:35 PM - Forum: General - Replies (7)

I have an old external hard drive (Western Digital passport) which when plugged into my Mac it is not recognised, I'm guessing this is because it has been configured for a windows based PC however I would like to access it using my Mac. Any ideas?

If you feel you're over confident here is an hour of youtube to bring you down to earth..

Some are ludicrous to the point of funny, some are gut wrenching.  Certainly changes my riding for a day or two.  Car drivers and motor bikers can be pillocks in equal measure ;-)

  Front brakes sticking
Posted by: NotAnotherHill - 24-02-13, 09:19 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (15)

Happened about 5 weeks ago so I took off calipers and took out pads and cleaned up the pistons thoroughly. Put it back together and they seemed ok. Bike not been ridden since and they are sticking on again. I can free them up a bit by wheeling the bike in the garage. Original hoses. Fluids done about 16k ago. Pads in good nick.

Other suggestions?

FZS1000 2002 model Rev Needle "jumping"
Posted by: mt23 - 24-02-13, 12:44 AM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (10)

002

Hi all, i got a FZS1000 2002 Carb model rev needle issue. The video above is Youtube (might need sign-in) which i had upload
The issue is i had just over-hauled my bike & when got it back got this issue.
When ON the ignition:
1. Rev needle is normal
2. Start the engine, rev needle goes to ~4.5k RPM
3. Turn the throttle, needle goes to ~5.5k RPM
4. Engine running but no more throttle, needle goes to 0k RPM, then back to ~4.5k RPM. It will goes on like that.

What is the likely cause of the issue? Is the coil behind the rev needle spoilt that i have to change a new set of meter?

Please help
