I've just bought a Gen1 2001 Fazer 1000. Minter with only 11,000 gen miles. I need a black Buglux/Bagster tank harness for it and also the Givi rails for the top box plate (348FZ) if anyone has these lying about I'll gladly brass you up for them. Also if you have a Givi M11 plate too? Cheers.
I've recently px'd my 53 plate thou and am left with a few bits to clear out of the garage, they will be going on fleabay at some point next week if not sold here,
1 x standard exhaust, in really good condition, as I never did any miles with it on the bike. £50 including postage in the UK.
1 x complete ventura luggage system, L bars, sport rack, grab handle, big bag rack and the large bag that goes on it, i believe its called an Aero Delta VI - expands from 15-35 litres, it easily coped with six day euro trips. I also have the smaller tail pack that sits on the sport rack which I used to use as a day bag - it's a bit tatty as it was in daily use but the zips and Velcro closures work fine.
This kit would cost £300 to buy new, I'll take £160 including postage in the UK as that's how much I need to sort luggage on the new bike. VENTURA KIT NOW SOLD !!!!
I also have a barely used baglux tank cover with fazer logo, in dark blue, matches the "galaxy deep purple" paint scheme. Also the baglux Minea tank bag, in blue with black trim to match. These two would cost £190 from the manufacturer but as I've modified it slightly ( I took off the shoulder straps from the underside of the bag) I will take £100 incl postage and buy myself a tyre.
I want to make a couple of minor changes. Trouble is, if it goes wrong then data will be lost, so it's best if I kick everyone off, make a backup so if I make an error I can just restore and try again.
I have a Fazer Thou with just shy of 31K on the clock. ive always looked after my bikes by keeping on top of the servicing. my annual mileage is 5.5 - 7K a year
Swing arm / shock - remove once a year, full clean and regrease Oil / filter - changed every 3.5 - 4K brakes - clean, pistions red rubber greased twice a year. Exup - stripped, copper greased at least twice a year (after it seized the first time & i had to drill it!)
and so on........
BUT...my fazer is no longer my number one bike. Im now only doing 1.5 - 2.5K a year and dont have the time or money to spend keeping my bike mint.
Just got me thinking what other peeps service schedules are? with my new low mileage would you still drop and the oil and filter once a year? my biggest fear is the EXUP seizing again. :'(
Also...are the checks im supposed to do on the cam chain tensioner, too make sure it moves freely? never done anything to a Cam Chain Tensioner ever :o
Ok so when I am de accelerating (releasing the throttle) it goes back slowly rather than quickly. Does anyone have any solution as to what it could be? Here is a video
