Hi folks, Earlier i had the carbs overhauled and havent done many kms afterwards. When i have the bike running there seems to be petrol coming from carb 3 and 4 underneath the carb and i think from between those 2 carbs. I turn the fuel tap off when parked up as a strong smell of petrol is there. I checked the hoses under the tank and straightned one of them as a breather hose had kink but still leaks. I did change to the original handle bars but had to put the other one back on , in doing so i was careful not to stretch the cables. The manual says i can use 91 unleaded fuel, previously 96 was used in it , would using 91 affect it at all? I have serviced my bikes myself to keep costs down and i love it, apart from carbs and engine as not quite confident enough or have enough time to tinker. any help would be great.

Hi fellow Fazers , im from New Zealand and I've got a 98 600 Fazer which i brought off a mate for a mates rate price. Just as well as i had to get carbs overhauled for around $900. In 2008 i got knocked off my 96 Ducati 600ss by a jackass that failed to give way resulting in having a metal rod in my leg. I was lucky to have only recieved a broken leg and being a friday afternoon in the city i was rather reluctant to take off my helmet with people around lol. Im glad im back in the saddle riding as its very addictive although im ever more weary of cage drivers. At some stage i hope to pop over to Isle of man for the races, looks amazing.

Hi
I run a 2001 Fazer FZS600.
Just been trying to adjust the clutch cable via the front sprocket cover access as the handlebar adjuster is at the end of its travel.
The locknut holding the adjuster screw is incredibly tight and I'm wary of damaging anything. I've added a dose of penetrating oil but am I correct in thinking that the screw adjuster should be held whilst undoing the locknut rather than just weighing in with a 12mm socket and bar? Haynes manual only mentions the offset/crank spanner. Experimentally trying the locknut without holding the adjuster screw and I can feel resistance from the internal spring.
Any tips on loosening the locknut without causing damage, please?
Thanks in advance.

Just re-posted this in the FZS600 section after realising I'd posted it in the wrong place! Apologies.
