  FZ1 gen2 - Your running temp??
Posted by: killerwhaleTRX - 21-04-20, 07:25 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (6)

So, today we had 18-19 degrees out and i did a 30 min inspired run after work. When stopping at home temp was 103 and both fans went on when cycling the ign.
Where are your temps...?? I´m contemplating that the Lars MAP is to lean with a full system hence the high temp....!?

Regards
Mattias

  FZ1 General Maintenance
Posted by: Fazian - 21-04-20, 07:07 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (4)

This is just an idea but has anyone done some sort of checklist for checking certain parts of the bike at either time or mileage intervals for us "Novices" ?

Also what about general checks before and after a ride out?

Might be useful and safe for those of us that are "not sure"

  Chain question
Posted by: Dudeofrude - 20-04-20, 09:30 PM - Forum: General - Replies (18)

I've just discovered that after being sat for a month my chain has developed 3 seized links ? I've worked them lose but it's time for a replacement anyway

So I was just wondering if anyone has noticed the difference between the VX Heavy Duty and the ZVM-X Super heavy duty DID chains? And if the latter is worth the extra £50??

Also is the recommended set up still DID chain, Renthal Rear and generic front sprocket? I'm thinking of getting the JT 'silent' sprocket this time just to see if theres much of a difference

Mivv exhaust for gen2 fz1 for sale

Hi all, just agreed to sell my 2007 fz1 and the buyer didn't want the Mivv exhaust. It is the titanium oval end can with the link pipe etc and comes with the spring, mounting bolt and clamp.
It has only been used tor 100/150 miles max and comes with the original box and homologation certificate etc.
Looking for £175 plus the postage.
Can email photos if you give me your email address etc. P

ANY COMBI BOILER BODS ON HERE?
Posted by: DILLIGAFF - 20-04-20, 10:51 AM - Forum: General - Replies (7)

Stuck in the house (high risk group) and unable to get someone in I have a small question.
Noticed lately that my boiler seems to be randomly firing up. Just hear the pump start up and run for abot 5 seconds.

Hopefully not a big problem as the boiler is fairly new?
Any ideas???

Can we have a section for successor bikes? MT09 and MT10?
Posted by: Mustang - 20-04-20, 08:37 AM - Forum: General - Replies (9)

Finally got round to this.
I think the mt09/tracer/mt10 range is a successor to the fazers, obviously there are differences but it’s what I’ve moved onto and I wanna stay on the site.
I replaced my FZS 1000 with an Mt09 as it just sort of happened. I had my Fazer advertised on fb walked into a bike shop, sat on the mt and was sold on it. After  pxing my fireblade 929 for the new bike, a buyer came thru for the Fazer.
The Mt09 is a lot lighter, very quick acceleration but obviously not as practical as the Fazer. A tracer would be more like on to be fair, but as they share the same engine and I’ll be using mine for touring and scratching, you know.

  Bike bogging/slowing at rev limiter
Posted by: riddleofsteel - 19-04-20, 12:07 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (10)

Hey guys, new to my 98 FZS600 (and carby bikes in general) so apologies if this is something simple/covered already.
I noticed today when pinning it in first/second, that when the bike hits the rev limiter, it doesn’t just bounce off it until I change gears, it seems like there’s a sudden loss of power and the bike slows/bogs and drops revs.
Is this normal? Or indicative of a problem?
Also, not sure if it’s related, but I’m getting a lot of popping in the exhaust, particular under deceleration/engine braking.
Cheers!

Focer font of Knowledge - Internal Oak Doors
Posted by: HarryHornby - 19-04-20, 10:32 AM - Forum: General - Replies (6)

Morning Focers,  so, another job that I've been putting off for a few years now, but now have no excuse not to do is giving our internal doors some love.

They are oak doors from Howdens and had Danish Oil applied when they were new.

Looking to give them a clean and a re-oil what are your top focer tips for this?

soapy water?  light sanding?  fine wire wool?

Happy lock down all :-)
