Hi, decided to try a silent front sprocket from JT as there wasn’t much in the price. Got it in front of me and its different on each side, one side is continuous rubber and the other side has two halfs of rubber.
Does it matter which way round it has to go on?
Full rubber ring facing the engine?
Cheers guys

Hi,
Looking at a bike tomorrow, Y reg, 42k, not much history. Looks in good condition from photos, seller has taken the front fairing off to give it a naked look but fairing is part of the sale. Last MOT has a few advisories, exhaust leak, front pads low, splitlink chain. Not sure if these have all been solved.
I know to check the downpipes, and the 1-2 clunk/ slipping out of 2nd, anything else I should worry about?
Asking price is £1100, does this sound reasonable?
Bike will be my day to day commuter and for playtime at the weekend ?

| Hyperpro fork springs |

My Hyperpro progressive springs have arrived. Would welcome forum members views on a couple of things.
1. The springs come supplied with SAE10W fork oil as the recommended grade. Personally, I'm inclined to stick with the 5W grade or maybe split the difference with 7.5W. Does anyone have any experience of different oil grades with these particular springs?
2. The recommended oil gap according to the instructions is 170mm. This is quite a bit different to the stock setting of 140mm. Again, does anyone have any recommendations about this - should I go with the Hyperpro recommended gap, the standard gap or something in between?
3. The instructions suggest that the springs should be installed with the shorter/tighter pitch coils at the top. The standard springs have the shorter/tighter coils at the bottom. I'm inclined to think that it doesn't really matter which way round they go as long as both forks are the same. Any views/opinions on this?
Any advice or comments very much appreciated.

Carlo Ubbiali sadly passed away yesterday aged 90. I expect only old timers on here would remember him. He was a 6 time 125 world champ and 3 time 250 world champ, in fact winning both in ‘56,’59 and ‘60. He started racing in 1946, the year I was born, and also went on to win IOM 5 times, as well as a Gold medal in the ISDT.
RIP Carlo.
