Hi everyone, just got my 2001 Fazer FZS 1000 today, and really like it. I've a couple of niggles that i'd like to know the answers to if that's ok. The first is the rather annoying fuel gauge that moves up and down on it's own depending on if you rock the tank when riding or with it just stood and rocked it between your legs, a bit of research from other Fazer owners tells me it's something in the tank maybe a sender that's faulty ?. And the second thing is a small oil leak that i discovered when stopping off for a cuppa on the motorway, it's not much and after taking off the sprocket cover found the leak to be no higher than the sprocket itself, is this a seal that needs changing ? or something worse ? apart from that she's a minter.
Cheers in advance
Alex

You know who you are , but then again not sure how many of you bother with this these days , this site is a shadow of its former self
Any road I guess most of you use Faceburk or twatter , im not on either so if you do still look here pass this on
On June 8th it is the 10th anniversary of FF1 Yep 10 fuckin years, how mad is that
My original plan was to sort an FF similar to the first but hey ho, life got in the way. Health ( of the ill sort, family not us ), Wealth ( usual lack of) and Happiness ( no probs in that dept ) conspire to scupper the best laid plans so FF1 Revisited aint going to happen.
BUT We should try and do something to try and commenerate the original and best FOC-U trips, so any suggestions ??
My opener is a bit too late but you never know
Myself and my Fiance ( yep you read that right ,it happens to us all eventually :rollin new hats required around middle of Oct ) are off on 1st to 12th June to ride The Route Des Grand Alpes taking in the biggest French Cols that arent under snow and will be around Guillestre on 8th of June so will raise a beer ( or even a glass of grandads eau de vie :evil ) and Dambuster across the square in memory of those great trips we had
Like I said a bit late notice but if any of you are that side of the channel around then , well hey I have the same mob number you now what to do
Nuff said
We had some great times , lets not forget them

Hope to see some of you soon

| FZS600 VS Modern Machines |

Not a standard FZS600 but one thats had a little bit o money thrown at suspension.Brakes in my opinion are fine & the engine more than capable & quick as is.
Not counting ABS
How does it compare with modern machines????,anyone come back to the FZS from a supposedly more exotic machine????
How much are we talking for the best suspension on offer or the next best thing at a reasonable price & how long will this stuff last ie - if the fazer did see an end then could you re coup a good chunk of the money through resale if it was ohlins???,standard shocks are supposedly done in after 10k so how long does the good stuff last?

hi all,,, i'm back lol
mike seems to have turned into a falcon while i've been away (think it was mike gtx or something before)
anyhow i have re-seen the light and on saturday i am collecting a gen 1 fazer 1000 after dabbling in hayabusas, r1's etc etc fer the last few years. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!
hope there are few of the old bunch around and mostly i hope spanish mike still pops over to ivanise bikes cos mine will need doing.
is devilsyam still selling all the really trick parts?
is the multiguage device still available?
oh and does anyone want a black 600 fazz?
great to be back in here but it took some finding and had to re-register as my login was discarded after i left lol.
