Hi, just joined, and you must have had this before. Fazer 2001 not ridden since 2008, bloody alarm in sleep mode, done the  pin thing, so called dealer can't sort it ( having it serviced £400 in done already) but they want me to pay £60 hour to take off the alarm and suggest 3 hours work. I'm happy to pay for service, but want to try this myself as on a budget.  I've read about ways to take it off but thought I'd ask you lot, the experts who own the same bike. Only done 13000 miles, was gonna sell it, took it out to clean it, and fell in love all over again. Ay help, or way to previous posts etc appreciated.

Had the first real dry day today and my new Michelin Pilot road 3's scrubbed in, so had chance to fully test the Fazer since it was "full monty'd" by Mike.


Apart from the fact that the bike now goes like hell, I keep hunting for 6th gear even though I'm in 6th. The bike just has so much grunt from real world 4k revs in top. It goes like it did in 5th or 4th before. No need whatsoever to change down to overtake at say 40/50MPH.


I even checked the rear profile of the tyre to make sure it's a 180/55 and not something like a 180/50 because it now feels under-geared. Totally awesome  8)  Thanks Mike and of course Ivan for the R&D 

A buddy of mind has had to give up biking so has the remainder of his kit for sale

Had a bit of a blast over to devil's bridge and back over hambleton via lancaster. Just before hambleton I see this and make sure I'm doing the speed limit.

I love my FZS600 (02) reg, but having come in to a little money I can afford to buy a newer bike...hooorah!  Will certainly be going down the FZ6 route but I wanted some ideas what my bike is worth...
02 reg. red (so obviously faster) FZS600.
33000 miles
scottoiler, heated grips and givi rack everything else is standard.
down pipes are ok but getting close to needing replacement I reckon
front fairing is in one piece, but araldite is holding the 2 indicators in place after two very low speed and embarssing offs.
I would say the overal condition is average.  rear tyre (road pilot 3) is about 2000 miles old and it will need a new front to get theough the MOT which I'm doing this weekend.
What do you reckon???  I'm thinking I'm lucky to get £1000, more like £800 or am I doing myself an injustice?
