  Cleaned my chain & sprocket
Posted by: noggythenog - 26-06-13, 04:33 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (19)

Gave the bike a good clean yesterday, but whats a clean bike on the outside if other parts are filthy.

Decided to clean the chain & inside the sprocket cover & now got it to a respectable standard. Smile

I couldnt get all the grit out & particularly hard to get at was the plastic chain runner which had loads of grit along itbut i guess that'll need to wait til i get a new chain & sprocket.

Sorry pics are tilted to the left,it never puts them upright when i use my ipad  camera vertically.

  Hello (reprise)
Posted by: goffboy - 26-06-13, 04:27 PM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (2)

Afternoon all,

Am back here, after a 3 year break. Used to be in Brighton - now in Ireland.

Current steed is a 2002 FZS 600 in yellow. 21,000 miles and some minor mods (braided lines, rear hugger and Givi rack). Doesn't get used anywhere near enough as I walk to work these days.

Have fond memories of very helpful Foc'ers from last time. Hope you're all the same these days  Wink

  Bike MOT - Northern Ireland
Posted by: goffboy - 26-06-13, 04:23 PM - Forum: General - Replies (5)

Hi guys & girls,

I've never MOT'd a bike in NI - they have test centres, not garages here. What sort of things do they test for apart from lights, tyres & emissions? Due to go through in a fortnight and I think everything's in order. But ye never know  :eek

Cheers,
Eamonn

break or put back on the road ?
Posted by: Sealion127 - 26-06-13, 02:21 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (14)

hi folks.

after some opinions on what to do with my fazer , its writen off but the damage is very light and the cost of getting it back on the road but still with cosmetic damage  would be about £150 buying parts off ebay.

ive been offered £300 salvage but do i strip it and sell it myself or take the easy option and take the £300. I know all the numbers say fix it but is it worth much when it comes time to sell it as a cat d.

cheers
chris

  Locking helmet to the bike
Posted by: Buzz - 26-06-13, 12:43 PM - Forum: General - Replies (20)

Art'noon,

I'm finally sick of taking a D-lock and massive cable with me to lock up my lid... are there any decent/compact locks or methods that others use?

I'm thinking of just getting one of these to go through the face hole and rear peg holders then stick them under the seat when riding.  Might need a plastic bag if it's wet though.

  Lubing EXUP Cables

Have done my clutch and throttle cables and thought it might not be a bad idea to do the EXUP ones, any tips, tricks or advice on the best way to do these?
