  Crash bungs
Posted by: mtread - 14-07-13, 10:52 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (1)

I've got a foxeye that has the genuine Yamaha bellypan, and uses the Yamaha fixing kit just like with the full side panels http://i948.photobucket.com/albums/ad321...04fc8.jpg.
Looking at Yam photos, the crash bungs replace the grey holding plates.
Q1 Can't find the genuine Yamaha ones anywhere. Does anybody know whether any of the other makes are straight replacements using the same mounting through the hole in the bellypan ? What about the R&G ones ?
Q2 Looking at pictures of the Yamaha ones, if they replace the grey plates with a bolt through the middle, it looks like they bolt onto a bracket rather than the frame itself. Is that going to take a whack OK ?

As in title, wingrack 1 or 2 or any three piece hard luggage set for the fzs600, mines an '02 so it could be useful if it fit an '02 model!!

  Bike Dolly
Posted by: Derpdiherp - 14-07-13, 07:07 PM - Forum: FZ6 / FZ6 Fazer - Replies (6)

Hey all, at the moment I'm having a right nightmare getting my bike into my back yard. It's a ginnel with some really tight corners, getting it in involves reverse turns and almost scraping my exhaust and mirrors (got a scuff on my mirrors to show for it already).

It would be a whole load easier if I had something like this:
http://goo.gl/vvpnz - a rear paddock stand with castors..

Issue with that is it doesn't look like the paddock stand will lift the fazer - as it doesn't have the bits the paddock stand is meant to latch on to.

Does anyone know of attachments for the swingarm to make this work? Or otherwise a dolly that'll work?

Cheers.

-Ahh crap wrong subforum, could a mod move this to the FZS600 board?

Posted by: reddave101 - 14-07-13, 05:52 PM - Forum: General - Replies (16)

Took my car test today even though I hate driving but wife nagging to take the family out so decided peace and less headaches ill do it. Had 5 lessons and examiner said im ready for my test.. arrived at test centre this morning, suns out feeling confident and away we go. 40 mins in everythings going swimmingly. Came to a junction with a blind bend right next to it on the way back to the test centre! eased out to try get better veiw of the corner F**K me crisis! a car came whipping round the corner in excess of 60 easily full of boy racers jacked up on wine gums! Heart in mouth as slammed on the brakes. Had to check examiner was still alive as he looked white and holding his breath with ten finger indentations in the dash... Everything now looks clear proceed. Pull all the way out BANG!!!!!!!. A F**!?NG police car straight into the front side of me also in excess of 60mph with his blue lights on in the daylight and no siren!!!!!! Fiesta now doing the waltz into a field with the engine doing summersaults down the road. T$*T got out of his police car ran over a first thing he said is wernt you looking!!!!!! Yes thanks we are ok you P*I%K!! We both walked away with only minor cuts and bruises but not once did I hear SORRY!!!! I definately know will never get back behind a wheel and these people are what are protecting our roads as they are advanced drivers....Biking is great and I feel safer on one....

Sorry folks rant over

  TYRE /FORK ? PROBLEM
Posted by: jason1 - 14-07-13, 05:20 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (8)

Hi all think i have a FORK issue , firstly my front tyre is wearing just of centre to the right ( sort of dipped ) . Front forks are soft but dont feel any softer than normal , no leaking oil , but front end isnt great over bumpy roads . Lots of bouncing and really not feeling the confidence through the twisties . Checked bearing in wheel/head and all seems fine , no play , knocking or catching anywhere . Have no history regarding fork oil change and i was thinking of changing anyway to thicker stuff as im no light weight . Has anyone come across this before ? or ideas. All ideas would be great  Wink

TPS - How Does It Work?
Posted by: nick crisp - 14-07-13, 03:12 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (7)

It has been suggested to me that if I disconnect my TPS then ride the bike, if my little stutter doesn't stop then it's not TPS related (makes sense). However, before I try this I want to know exactly what function it has (apart from obvious " senses the throttle position!). How does the bike make use of the information it receives from the sensor - in short what it does and how it does it. If you can just disconnect it and still ride, surely it does not have a critical function? (Can't believe this could be right, or why have it in the first place). Are there any sources where I can read up on this? Ta for any help on this.
