  disabling egr valve
Posted by: esetest - 13-07-13, 06:54 PM - Forum: General - Replies (9)

I am not a mechanic but was wondering .Is it possible to tell when an egr valve is open or shut without removing it , wondering if I were to disconnect it when its shut , then took it for a run and it was ok then that would confirm whether the valve was faulty or not . any advice much appreciated .

  Digital Camera (Cheap ones)
Posted by: pointer2null - 13-07-13, 06:36 PM - Forum: General - Replies (26)

I'm looking to get a cheap digital camera - the £60 price mark.

I know sod all about the latest and greatest camera tech so I'm open to advice.

I know that optical zoom is better than digital.

I know that the more pixels the better the image quality, but above the 16 Mega Pixel mark I probably won't notice the difference.

Do I want a camera which takes AA batteries or one with Li-Ion cells? What else should I look for or avoid?

I have been wondering for a while... These guys hang their legs off on braking. Now I understand that they do it  to change the balance of the bike as much or more than the "air brake" effect. But on right handers with the right leg hanging how do they, or indeed do they use the rear brake?

Is it hand operated? Is a balance shift more than enough to compensate for not using it at all?

Thoughts and ideas appreciated!

  What more could one want?
Posted by: Skinbobrabbit - 13-07-13, 04:26 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (3)

Reeto  :thumbup
I bought me Fazer back in Feb and after dropping the forks a tad, fitting a fruity (yet sensible) titanium end can and stuck a K&N filter on the wee badger, I've decided that I've found me ideal bike that'll do me till I can't ride no more (spine's fooked).  I don't need more power or racier handling (been there, done that), so what's the point?  It ticks any box I can throw at it.

What I do fancy doing though is giving it a cosmetic tweak.  The FZS doesn't exactly tickle me plums, looks wise or turn any heads, so I was thinking of making the bike 'MY' bike.  Has anyone else made any mods cosmetic wise, on here, so I can nick their ideas be inspired?  I don't mean lobbing some wanky coloured bolts.  You know, paint jobs, shiny bits, nice sensible, growd up stuff.

Chars y'all and post pics please (of your bikes, not your sisters)  :guitar

Coolant leaking exactly from the under bolt that hold the the thermostat housing.

My mind goes to the o-ring between those parts...but where i can find one....

  Hello from sweden
Posted by: Hghlander - 13-07-13, 01:25 PM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (17)

Hello everybody
I just bought a FZS 1000 -02 and I have a GPZ 900r -88.
My experience with the GPZ is that it is good to have some one to talk to and also help others when something goes wrong.
But that is hardly the case with Fazer, they just go one fore ever  Wink
I'm from Sweden and there I live in a house with my wife and two teenage daughters.
When you have 2 teenage daughters the only sanctuary you have is the garage.
I prefer to do so much I can by my self regarding maintenance and rebuilding my bikes.
My professional background is: Tool maker, service engineer , project leader, service manager, and now I work as a production manager.
Now you know a little about me.

Is there more from Sweden here?
