Just playing with the map for a decent sunny Sunday - thoughts anyone?

Aaaargh, spent last half hour trying to do a google maps route but can't seem to copy/save it!  :pc

Ok, the idea is:

Motorcycle Mega Store, Swindon (burger wagon in car park and bench seating) to Cricklade, B4553.
B4040 via Malmesbury to Acton Turville
B4039 via Castle Combe to Chippenham
A4 via Marlborough to Hungerford.
A338 and B4000 to Highworth.
Back to M/cycle Megastore, Swindon.
A gnats over 100 miles.

  tickover for moto gymkhana
Posted by: expatmanxman - 15-09-13, 11:27 AM - Forum: FZ6 / FZ6 Fazer - Replies (4)

I'm thinking of having a go at Moto G on an FZ6, one thing the guys do to help is speed the tickover up significantly.
As I understand it the FZ has an idle speed screw, does anybody know how much difference this makes, how fast can if be adjusted to. It would only be a temporary thing so no long term effect I think.
Also do both the early and S2 models have the adjustment screw.

Cheers

  What exhaust??
Posted by: shrekster - 14-09-13, 11:25 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (16)

I'm thinking of a full exhaust system for my bike but i'm not sure which one. I want one that gives the best midrange power if possible. If you have a full system what are your thoughts as to how it works?

Jim.

Astonishing.  No other word for it.  Thought this was so outrageous it needed sharing so that the comedians could work their magic.

So needed to take the generator flywheel off and you really need a puller but broke mine ages ago

so first i undid the bolt and removed it

[Image: 1275410_10151699807833800_2052240530_o.jpg]

then grab the least expected item in the spares box an old bar end weight

[Image: 1267196_10151699807783800_1638047016_o.jpg]

with no modification screw into flywheel

[Image: 1272037_10151699807953800_1766380958_o.jpg]

No i have not gone barking mad hang in there lol

[Image: 1239064_10151699807968800_1402453244_o.jpg]

insert allen key and rotate clockwise till tight (make sure motor is in gear keep going till it comes off

[Image: 1233104_10151699808073800_130338692_o.jpg]

now unscrew bar end weight and put away till next time ya need to remove one

another clever idea Bourne out of total frustration lol

Clutch Pushrod - ok to pull out?
Posted by: bbb - 14-09-13, 08:05 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (17)

Decided to check the sprocket nut and clean out the crud/relube from behind the sprocket cover. The nut is the old 9mm so will need to head to wemoto for the 12mm but the sprocket is solidly on and the threads look ok (phew), the amount of crud was as expected.

When I took the cover off the clutxh pushrod was stuck to the actuator and pulled out by a good 4cm, pushed it back in but it doesn't feel as if it is pushing on the clutch springs just a hard dead stop. Could something have fallen out internally? looking at the parts  fiche it isn't obvious if anything can.

Cheers.

  Two button clock fascia?
Posted by: TonyW - 14-09-13, 05:11 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (8)

My Fazer has had the speedo replaced. The replacement clock is from a later model with two buttons but my fascia only has the single button so I can't reset the trip or set the clock.
Does anyone have a spare two button fascia they would like to sell/donate?
