  B&B Costa Blanca near Moraira
Posted by: lew600fazer - 17-09-13, 12:28 AM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (4)

If anyone is looking for a B&B  in the Moraira area of the Costa Blanca. I have a one bedroomed apartment attached to my villa. €175.00 per week. It can sleep up to 4 people in comfort, 1 double bed in bedroom and 2 double settee beds in the lounge. €2.50 extra each for breakfast if 4 staying. Apartment consists Lounge, Bedroom and bathroom.
There is a 8x4 mtr swimming pool right outside your door. Fans are supplied in warm weather, also central heating come the cooler months.

If biking/touring there are some fantastic roads around here and the scenery is amazing. I am quite happy to be your guide as I enjoy the rides myself

Contact Lew on 0034 634 331 715 or PM me on the forum if interested

  Tuning on the cheap..
Posted by: ogri48 - 16-09-13, 11:05 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (27)

After giving me FCE a week or so to get the feel of it, Had a great evening in the garage on me fz1 tonight....picked up a pc3 the other week for £132 on eBay. Tonight I modded me airbox, disconnected me O2 sensor and removed the secondary butterflies(heard some right horror stories about getting the screws out but a decent right sized driver and plenty of concentrated heat of me leister gun and it was a piece of piss) then fitted the pc3. Yesterday on the bay again I got a carbon bos slip on for £102, ( still want a yoshi but money is tight) hopefully it will be here tomorrow, just gotta de cat the manifold and de cable the exhaust valve before I fit it. Pc3 came of a bike with similar spec so it should be ok, but I'll get brew at BSD to do a custom map, hopefully it will be knocking on the door of 145-150 brake. Couldn't help but try it tonight with just the induction mods and power commander...lovely snarl under the tank and it finally is starting to feel like the flat barred r1 I wanted when I bought it...
I take back what I said about gen 2s being pricy to tune, it's a helluva bike.

  FZS 600 Fork Internals
Posted by: Dead Eye - 16-09-13, 08:28 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (1)

I have the internal parts of the forks from a '99 FZS 600 available. The bike had done about 24k so the springs may still be of some use to someone not after anything special.

Free to collect or pay for postage (located in Chelmsford, Essex) Smile

This is from a pre 2000 Fazer so does not have the pre-load adjusters.

I have the fork lowers lying around as well I think... forgot to take a photo though Sad

  Oil and slipping clutch
Posted by: Le Roi - 16-09-13, 02:36 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (9)

Hi All,

Well after some work my "project" Fazer is on the road again.
It runs excellent, easy and comfy bike to ride.

One thing is puzzling me though....

I was going to put a new oil filter on (K&N) and change the oil (Motul 5100).
But I had some 20W40 mineral (motorcycle) oil sitting on the shelf , so I changed the oil with that and left the filter on.
Idea is to run it for a few hundredth miles and than do a proper change with the K&N  filter and Motul oil.
This way, my thinking is, I would get some of the old muck out which has accumulated in the engine.(45.000 miles on the clock) I'm also putting in carb cleaner for the first two or three tank stops.

But on to the puzzling part, the clutch is now slipping for the first few miles.
When the engine is up to operating temperature the slipping is gone???
So I don't think it is the clutch, but it has something to do with the oil.
Is that possible, it is proper motorcycle oil albeit being mineral instead of semi?
And 20W40 should be okay for now as the outside temperature is still about 15 Celsius.
The range for 20W40 is 0 Celsius 40 Celsius if i'm not mistaken.

So I was just wondering what your thoughts are on this.
I'm now going to change the oil this week to see if it helps.
If not then the clutch is probably in need of new springs an friction plates.

Hi all,

Continuing my clearout and I've got an Airhawk 2 medium for sale!

Only used twice! The zip holder thingy has gone a bit wonky but still works perfectly, and I have sadly lost the straps! Looking online replacements can be found for £20. Therefore reflected that in the price  £70 posted £65 collection from west london
