Ok then I keep looking at 2003-05 thous because I like the logo on the tank rather than the text, but I can never be sure if a bike is original or not frames are different colours is that an age thing? Engines are different colours is that an age thing some silver ones have a black mudguard and tail, as do some red ones. The red ones somtimes have a black fairing as well, some say ex up 1000 on the fairing some don't? My foxeye 600 has graphics on the tail should they be on a thou? At the moment I'm just looking but by the year end/ early next year hopefully prices will have bottomed and if I can find the right one at the right price then who knows, but what is the right one???:-\

Hiya fellas,
Being going for a fair few years and going again this year. Trouble is all I hear about from other bikers over the years is "got this for £100 when it was marked up as £200" and other variations for boots, jackets, trousers, gloves etc.
I've managed to pick up bugger all cheap in the way of gear - managed to pick up mirrors, etc cheap, but they've been priced about right.
How the hell do people get these discounts? Is it typically on the last day (going Tuesday, can't stand the weekends). Are there certain manufacturers who typically sell at discount & are willing to haggle down? Orrrrr, is there a sneaky, stoaty, cunning approach plan?
Any advice as always much appreciated.
Cheers

Hello all.
I'm still alive! This may amaze some more than others. But yep, still here.
So, for those who remember that nutcase on a 33hp black 600, status thread!
We're currently at anchorage in Fueraventura, on our way to Rubicon, on the island of Lanzarote. I flew out to Las Palmas airpaort, on Gran Canaria a week ago, and after a few days in Las Palmas, spent a few more days at anchor in the harbour of Anfi Del Mar (South Gran Canaria).
We plan to sail to the Cape Verde islands in mid November, stay there for a week, then take the leap to the Carribean. Landfall should be St Lucia, or maybe Martinique, and around the end of November / early December.
The boat I'm on is a 44ft Lagoon Catamaran. For those who sail, bear in mind my sailing experience before was a 40ft monohull with 4 people aboard. I'm still tryign to get used to all the space! This thing seems huge! But hell, is it comfy!!
This is all battery power will allow for now (landlubbers take the electrics for granted, I tells ya!), but I'll keep you posted.
Take care, ride safe!
Christo

Hi, been looking at getting a Fazer and especially an FZS1000 (Gen1) after a few recommendations. I'm new bikes, not that young(!), and experience so far is the XJ600 I've been riding for my DAS. I was wondering though, what the general opinion is between the 600 and thou? I know one won't be better than another, but would be grateful for advice on best / worst bits about both from those who know the bikes well! I'm looking for something that will make me grin when I get off it, do a bit a commuting if I need to on occasion (not often) and not be hard on the wrists... or back! (which puts me off full-on sports bikes). really like the forum here too. What a great site! Sorry for the newbie questions...

A lot of my photos aren't accepted on various sites and need to be resized apparently. Anybody know how I do this?
