Modded Fazer - Fuzzy - 23-10-13
Stumbled across this, never seen it before so thought I'd share. Trying to figure out what the front end is off? Not really my cuppa but looks very well done. Wonder if they addressed the speedo sensor/tps issues that seem to go with most front end swaps... Could always ring them to find out as their number is on the escort (i think) in the background.

Looks pretty cool, no idea about the front end but the tail looks like it's from an MV Agusta. Would quite like to customise a bike like that one day or build a bike from parts of other higher spec bikes, but would need more mechanical knowledge and money!

Front and rear off an Aprilia RSV1000 Mille. Not that I'm being smart, it tells you in the first link
.Rear sub frame is hand built.

I did speak to him some months ago when I was researching for my build and he said that he hadn't noticed any problem with losing the speedo sensor. Once I get to that point with my own custom Fazer (build thread starting soon) I'll let you know what happens when I ditch the OE speedo and speed sensor.

May have an answer to this, will be some time before I can check it myself.
I bought a second hand Koso speedo for my build. I was having a look a the wiring that came with it and there are three wires that go from the speedo drive back to the speedo. If you connect that up directly as per the instructions then your speedo will work, but you may get the speedo/TPS issues as you've mentioned. On the loom that a came with mine there was a piggy back wire coming off the brown wire. I am guessing, but I reckon that wire went off to the ECU of whatever vehicle the Koso was previously fitted to. If so then that may be all that's required to avoid any error codes when using an after market speedo. Once I install mine I'll have a better idea, but an option to ponder.

You know what whenever I see a heavy modded bike they never look comfy or like they will handle well. And if you are gonna spend that much on a 15 year old bike you may as well put the cash to sumut else. Ok its not my cup of coffe and I do know for some people it is, but there you are ------------ is it just me !!!!

Live and let live! I love watching all these project threads. The ingenuity and problem solving demonstrated never cease to amaze me, being completely useless at that kind of thing myself. Long may guys like devilsyam, wraith and ruby racing continue to amaze us with such skills. :thumbup

If you think carefully about building a special then there is no reason why it shouldn't be comfy. Certainly a damn sight comfier than some of the weird riding positions that come up on some of the builds in Biker Build Off!
And why spend that much on a 15 year old bike? Well for me I just love the creative process and that's why I do it. Making stuff is so satisfying. Yes in the cold light of day it's a waste of money, I know that. But I get great satisfaction fabricating stuff and seeing my vision come to life. The good thing about my 15 year old bike was that it only cost me £400. I've got a complete front end (forks, yokes, wheels, brakes) and rear wheel off a KTM Supper Duke for nothing! I bought a written off bike and sold all the bits I didn't need and got the purchase price back. You can do this sort of thing without spending mega bucks, sometimes you have too. Don't get me wrong, I'd love a load of bling on my build, but I can't afford it.
I have never smoked and I don't drink much, so at least I'm getting something for the money I waste, rather than something like ill health. Hope this doesn't come across as having a go at you Fazersharp because I'm not, just saying why I like to modify. Just a grown up continuation of making Airfix kits I guess. OK, OK. We never grow up!
