ODD JUDDER ON SLOW JUNCTIONS ETC
Posted by: TOM VR46 - 02-10-20, 10:20 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (11)

This is something that came with the bike and i have sort of got used too,, but  always been thinking about. :rolleyes  And now something in Dman2019's clutch change topic has got me thinking again.
Symptoms,  a judder felt when taking slow junctions. One i take quite often is , off a main road , turning right ,into a small rise and sort of back on yourself again.
Solution , a touch of rear brake and no judder Smile ..
It can happen on any slow junction and i have just learned to live with touch the rear brake gently and no judder. Nothing has ever changed it , for example new cush drive rubbers, new chain and sprockets, new rear wheel bearings, new clutch cable. Rear swing arm has no play but havent done that yet. But,,, back to Dman2019's topic. It mentions a JUDDER SPRING :rolleyes ,,, mmm,,,, judder :rolleyes ,,, well thats what im feeling,,, so any ideas. Wink
This isnt urgent, as ive got used to it. But if i have spare time or even just serviceing the old bike , do you think it would be worth a wee look.
Any suggestions welcome.

Selling my 2004 Fazer 1000 in Blue (SOLD)
Posted by: kevmac - 02-10-20, 11:39 AM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (3)

Selling my Fazer Thou.
2004 FZS1000 with 39,236miles on the clock. MOT'd September 2021.
Great bike with loads of power and takes 2 up no problem.
Bodywork in good condition, no cracks.
Oil and filter, plugs and coolant change and new front brake pads changed last year, but hardly used during lockdown. New front tyre last year and rear only 1000 miles old.
Front forks have had new seals, oil and Hyperpro springs installed. Also, rear shock replaced with R6 upgrade. 4 degree ignition advance.
Comes with Renthal Ultra Low Handlebars, Black Widow exhaust, Scotoiler, crash bungs, chrome radiator cover, leather covered seat, clear rear indicators and full luggage (minor scrapes as seen in pictures).
It's a 16 year old bike so shows its years but in general good condition. Bad points are the clock/trip doesn’t work (Odometer does) and the silver engine paint is flaking in places.
Looking for £2,200 ono. Any questions please ask.
Located Montrose, Scotland.
Advertised on Facebook with plenty of photos.

  Tyre sizes and choices
Posted by: Sannox - 30-09-20, 09:57 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (23)

Hi all, I had a new set of BT016's fitted recently to my bike and I hate them! Used to have 021's and never had any problems with those, now the local shop (M&P) stopped doing the 021's, maybe should have gone to 023's but I digress. I want to go for pilot road 4's but it looks like the front tyre size available is a 120/17 and the original tyre size for the Fazer is 110/17, will the 120/17 fit? Rear sizes are no problem.

Also, tyre pressures, what rubber and pressure are you running? my 021's ran at 33/36 f/r with no problems, standard recommended by the book etc, the 016's do not like those pressures, feels like I'm on ice on wet roads, in the dry, they are ok but don't fill me with confidence. Reading some posts on here, I read that the pilot roads 4's are probably ther best tyres for a Fazer600, I know it's all personal preference etc but would areally appreciate some thoughts.
Cheers

  Couldn't have been more isolated

Grand day out at Donington on Monday, dead lucky with the weather again. I was the only one in the large car park all day, save for a lady rider who parked there for a couple of hours in the morning. Well organised, given the restrictions, usual knobs on display bining the bikes in the first session. A couple of riders thought I was on a thou. I'll take that  Smile

  I am new here
Posted by: kralik - 30-09-20, 08:44 AM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (2)

Hi everybody here!
I am pretty new here, I used to read some topics earlier.I have got FZS1000 first gen, but I am not new to this as first time I bought the FZS was back in 2013.
It is really good and reliable bike, mainly from the engine point of view, however I dont know why I did not find this forum much sooner.I used to do trackdays with Fazer in the past, short & long circuits too.
Now, I am about to make few modifications to the bike, R1 front end, Ivans kit, maybe full exhaust system, or at least akra or arrow slip on.Basically, i have titanium Akra slip on at home, it has 60mm inlet, but I cannot find genuine Akra link pipe for it. It seems to be discontinued.
In addition, I would like to buy FZ1 gen2 too, if I will sell my second current bike.

Just spotted this on ebay -

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2013-Yamaha-F...SwWGFfatgq

So par for the course that a stealer is trying to palm off a 2012 as a 2013, but its so far over the book price for the a 2012 w/21k that its in a different time zone.

But that's not the best bit, look carefully at the side shots of the frame..... the main engine mounting bolt/s are missing from both sides...
I was going to post this in thats got my goat thread, but this one is extra special so I figured it deserved its own post.
