FZS600 1998 BOGS/CUTS OUT FOR SPLIT SEC AT HIGH RPM
Posted by: sl2018 - 21-10-20, 09:48 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (2)

hi all,

my fazer has started to bog or cut ( like flicking the energency switch quickly) but only at high rpms...11000/12000  (3rd gear +).... or say at 112+mph in 6th

i have slight blow on no3( manifold gasket) ..i have 4 on order......

my m8 tried to install a cheap alarm, turned out was fir a 2stroke,ncs v1( and blew ignition fuse, several times)
Could this of caused the rectifier or coil to have probs...(rectifier now letting too much voltage through to the ignition?).....it now has the correct alarm fitted  (one of thise  ncs v2 things)

other than that..... it only started at around  time of that install?

any ideas....i havent checked anything yet really..

thank you

before thjs bike ran sweet?

  2002 Fazer 1000 for sale - 15,789 miles
Posted by: Gilly - 19-10-20, 12:15 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (4)

Hi all, my dad is looking at selling his 2002 Fazer 1000 with 15,789 miles on the clock in red. The bike has heated grips, clear rear light, colour co-ordinated undertray, micron can (standard included), braided lines, renthal sprockets, Datatool alarm system with certificate of installation, dynojet carb kit and dyno printouts, polished rims and probably more that i have forgotten.

The bike also comes with the standard can, top box with fixings, a leather tank cover and the tank bag that connects to the cover and also when unclipped is a backpack. it has great tyres, been well looked after and runs lovely and crisp with no rattles or smoke. It comes with an extensive folder full of history including service history, owners manuals, mot certificates and receipts of works undertaken and parts purchased.

The bike currently has no MOT but is being booked in for this week hopefully so will come with 12 months MOT. It does have a few age related marks and scratches which is to be expected of a bike this age. however, it is far from rough and is very presentable.

I have more photos available just let me know and I can send them over.

Now on ebay with a starting price of £1,800.

Thanks Andrew

He's done it again!!? Leon [crap results and a raft of excuses] Haslam has secured a works Honda ride for 2021 I've said before on the sight the admiration I had for Ron and thought initially Leon got some good rides on the back of his dad's reputation and why not? anyone would help their son/daughter to get on but enough is enough ! he's had every opportunity to prove himself on the world stage with some great machinery, year in year out as far as I'm concerned totally undeserved with the calibre of young riders out there who really deserve a chance and now another year on a works Honda??!! for focs sake even he will have to dig deep into his encyclopaedia of rubbish excuses this season . :groan

  Exhaust retaining springs
Posted by: 7omly - 14-10-20, 10:23 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (2)

Does anyone know what length the retaining springs are that secure the downpipes are. I appear to have lost one and the other three all appear to be stretched. I'd like to replace them with new ones but want to get the right ones.

  Whiney noise
Posted by: Dudeofrude - 14-10-20, 04:03 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (30)

Hey, I've put this in general to reach more people but my Gen 2 has suddenly developed a whiney type noise. Wasn't there this morning on the way to work but very apparent on the way home, Its audible straight away from start up and definitely coincides with the revs of the bike.
Can hear it willing revving at standstill and while driving.
Seems to be coming from the around the back of the engine above the stator area. Possibly airbox?
Doesn't seem to affect anything other than my eardrums but is definitely not normally there.
I've attached a short video clip of it, can anyone suggest where to start looking for any issues?
