| Oil Level Light (5DM) |

I have an issue with my oil level light on my 1999 5DM:
When I switch on the ignition, the handbook says that it should be on, going off when started up – a self test.
The only light I see when I switch it on is the neutral light.
I have checked the bulb and its ok (swapped it with the known working neutral light)
My concern is it wont come on when it needs to (low oil level)
Has anyone else come across this / fixed it?

Just finished replacing front brake pads and discs, and rear pads on the Peugeot 206. Total cost £91.
Got me thinking, how come similar parts for bikes are so damn expensive?
Example: FZ6 S2 2009: front brake pads, £25 per caliper, £50 total
Front brake discs: £153 each, £306 total
206: front pads, £17 for a full set
front discs £25 each, £50 total
and the 206 parts are more substantial in mass

So this popped on autotrader -
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/bike-detail...dal=photos
For the mileage/price I thought it must be mint, but no just another trader taking the piss - - The rear grab handles are missing.
- The wheels are dirty and have dings, marks and scratches.
- All front & rear left foot pegs, swing arm, link pipe (which is rusty) and fairing infill's have all been stained by some cleaner.
- The handlebars are damaged, bars ends aren't stock and the brake lever has a worn end.
- The headlight bulbs have tinted bulbs that will fail an mot.
- The rear wheel looks like it has a rub mark from the rear brake house? or is that a reflection.
- The wind screen has a big scratches right across it.
- The drive chain looks like its rusty? and the rear axel nut has damage/corrosion.
- It has clearly its been dropped on the right hand side, the dent in the tank, the front fairing has been repainted (decals are missing). That also means the sub-frame, the right hand infill, the headlight mount points may have been tweaked/broken. And worse the bike could be a Cat-D.

| oil jets in crankcase |

Hi
I'm just putting in an endless cam chain and noticed that my Fazer has only one oil jet in the crankcase. In the haynes manual it seems to suggest that there are two. I dislodged another jet which is a closed nozzle with a spring and ball bearing which seems to fit on the right side of the crankcase parallel with the other oil jet. Both openings for these jets are slightly different.
Can anyone help please. Before i put the puzzle back together. I'd be very obliged.
Thanks
Pen

Hi - just got a Fazer and want to get into maintaining it myself. Log shot, I know, but I'm hoping to find a cheap engine for me to play around with - dismantle, re-assemble etc. Obviously don't want to mess with the one on the bike until I know what's inside!! Could be scrap as I'm not planning to restore it. Any offers considered. Thanks

Hello LOFO's.... What with this year being a bit of a wash out with Covid and all the restrictions that come with it, I'm going to put it out there for a meet, ride out and camp over for next year in the spring or summer.
I'm in the process of purchasing a private woodland and it's pretty central to all my favourite roads in the south east and just before the start of the 272 to Loomies from Tunbridge Wells.
Anyway, I'm thinking we could meet up, set up camp and acquire supplies of beer, cider and food then head out for a ride round the Kent and Sussex twisties or head west to Loomies, whatever we decide.
In the evening we could head back to the woods, drink and eat and generally talk bollocks round the campfire in a truly magical and private woodland setting.
Let me know if you're up for it and we'll keep this thread going and fine tune arrangements.
As usual, being a LOFO ride, nothing is set in stone so if necessary, we'll just wing it.
I think we could all do with a weekend blow out after all this year has thrown at us and this has got to be a good way of leaving it all behind.
What do you say Foccers ? Who's up for it ?

Like many I guess I came here because I needed some advice. I'm an old git biker now in Essex and have been riding mainly TDM's for the last 20 years but came here for help on my '11 FZ1 Faired that developed milky oil.
Work in the NHS (IT), had a crack at all sorts of bike riding but now settled in to commuting (TDM's) and sportytours (FZ1) and a bit of hooning on both.
Try to support BMCRC by watching when I can and ex-marshal in the series. Like all motorsports and fettling bikes when it isn't raining or freezing the brass balls off monkeys.
Know a few of you foccers in real life, although they might not own up to it.
Hi.
