Back to biking after 20 years...Its good to be back.
Posted by: Jdalt - 21-11-13, 03:12 AM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (22)

Hello to one and all

After a fairly bad crash just over 20 years ago I hung up my helmet and leathers and bought a car.

Recently however after chatting to a biker friend of mine I decided to dip my toe in the water and see if I really did want to get back on a bike.

My thought process was that I would buy a cheap bike and have a mess around on it for a while to get me back into the swing of things, my thinking was if it was cheap it would not matter if I dropped it etc.

So after a bit of research I decide to buy a fzs600 from ebay and managed to get a great deal on a 2001 black and gold fzs600.

The first ride was a little bit tentative but after about 1000 miles in four weeks I realised that I had made the right choice. I did not realise just how much I missed riding.

So here I am back in the swing of things and looking forward.

FZ6 Givi Pannier Rack on FZS600
Posted by: kevinmcglynn - 20-11-13, 10:09 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (5)

This has most likely been asked before but if it has I cant find it. I want to fit panniers to my FZS600, but as the kits dont exist any more I'm struggling.

My bike already has a Givi 340FZ Monorack Top Box Rack fitted so I dont want to remove this to fit one of the Wingrack kits, so I was wondering if a pannier rack designed to fit an FZ6 (Givi PL351) could be gently persuaded (or man handled) to fit an FZS600. Does anyone have any experience of this?

This is the pannier rack I'm referring to:

  Bin Collector.
Posted by: Kosmic Kartman - 20-11-13, 09:04 PM - Forum: General - Replies (3)

A REFUSE COLLECTOR IN AUSTRALIA.....A refuse collector in Australia is driving along a street picking up wheelie bins and emptying them into his compactor . He goes to one house where the bin hasn't been left out , and in the spirit of kindness and after having a quick look for the bin , he gets out of his truck and goes to the front door and knocks, there's no answer , being a kindly and conscientious bloke ,he knocks again - a bit harder , and then harder still, enventually a Chinese man comes to the door ''Harro !'' says the Chinese man , Gidday mate! where's ya bin asks the collector . 'I bin on toiret '' explains the Chinese bloke , a bit perplexed . realising the fellow had misunderstood him, the man smiles and tries again ''no mate!where's your dustbin ?'' ''I dust been toiret I toll you !'' says the Chinese man still perplexed. listen '' says the collector your misunderstanding me . where's your 'wheelie bin?''' ''ok ok'' replies the Chinese man with a sheepish grin and whispers in the collectors ear.  '' I wheelie bin having sex wiffa wife's sista !

New member as a two year owner of an FZS 600.
Posted by: msmudge - 20-11-13, 05:32 PM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (7)

Hi guys, just a quick introduction. I stumbled across this forum while looking for info on other bikes. (Shameful I know).

I live in Cwmbran, and commute daily to Bristol on my '00 Fazer. I hope to get lots of great tips and ideas for the bike as I am currently hankering after a bigger bike. Which is stupid really because the Fazer is fantastic for what I do. But you know how it is with bikes!

I hope to be sticking around for a while on this forum, Because even if I do get a bigger bike I will probably keep the Fazer. It's too good to lose.

Anyway first question, how do you get Siri to correctly type the word 'Fazer'?

FZS600 Michelin Pilot Road 3 Tyre Pressures
Posted by: Tefer - 20-11-13, 11:46 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (12)

Hey Guys,

I am just after a guide to the tyre pressures for Michelin Road 3's for an FZS600. I weigh about 12 stone probably nearer 12.5 with gear on. I was told by the place that supplied the tyres the pressures are 36psi front and 41psi in the rear, seems quite a lot to me?

Also would it be better to have tyre at correct PSI through winter, or would loosing a couple of PSI be better?

Hi from Edinburgh, just passed my mod 2 a couple of weeks ago and after looking at bikes and reviews for what seems like years, went out and bought a 1999 fzs600 in gold Big Grin absolutely love it! Only thing I might do is a respray to tidy it up a bit, but that is way down the line, at the moment just looking forward to getting some experience!
