No chance of talking my way out of this one.
Posted by: Fazerider - 09-01-14, 02:27 PM - Forum: General - Replies (37)

I was late for work, it was a beautiful sunny morning, there was very light traffic and the first dry roads my BT023s have seen since fitting a thousand miles ago, but I didn't feel any of those excuses were going to have much effect on the two nice gents from the Met who stopped me on the A316 this morning.
Phrases such as "we couldn't get a lock on you over the previous flyover" make me think they were being kind and I was lucky to get away with 3 points and a £100 fine.

So, does anyone have any good techniques for getting out of a speeding habit?
This is a journey I've done thousands of times. I know the road like the back of my hand and it's difficult to stay focussed on observing the limit. It's just too easy to maintain motorway speeds where the M3 turns into the 50mph (but still 3 lanes wide) A316. This morning's experience will slow me down for a few months, but know that eventually I'll focus on the speedometer less. I want to keep to within shouting distance of the limit as a habit.

Screw in back tyre - repair or not?
Posted by: Jamieg285 - 09-01-14, 10:06 AM - Forum: General - Replies (35)

The picture below says it all  :'(  (If anyone can't see the pics, it's a half worn PR3, with a large screw just over 1/2 the between the centre line and the edge, so closer to the edge than centre)

Is it suitable for repair?  I've read elsewhere that some places won't repair ZR tyres, but what about a DIY job?

Also, if DIY, does the tyre have to come off the rim, or can it be done 'from the outside'?  Can anyone recommend any good kits?

Kevlar jeans, Brand new, UK brand, Trade price - £50
Posted by: adeejaysdelight - 09-01-14, 04:51 AM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (86)

Hi Guys,

I am clearing out the last of the 2013 stock. What does not sell here will be going to the local Triumph/Yahmaha dealership & eBay. RoadRash Jeans is my own brand that I have been building for over 4 years. The jeans are designed by my myself and a design manufacturer I work with here in the UK. I have been established in the market since 2010 and sold these jeans in over 30 countries. I have a sponsored stunt rider who wears RoadRash Jeans during performances and I have worked with big brands such as Triumph and Krieger. You can find loads more info at www.roadrashjeans.com

The following styles/sizes are available for immediate dispatch on a first come first served basis.

Classic - 36W/34L

Urban Rider (some light blue, some original) -

40W/34L
38W/34L
36W/34L
34W/34L
32W/34L

Ladies - 18R

Offered to foccers for £50. Courier delivery is £5 UK mainland. If 2 pairs are ordered at the same time, there will be no extra delivery charge. I will deliver worldwide at cost. I can also offer the armour pack purchased with jeans for £10 extra.

I can only accept Paypal "gift" or bank transfer to a business account at this price. I will also accept regular Paypal payment, with the charges at the buyers expense.

This is lower than the trade price. And just to be clear, these are not cheap nasty (made in China) jeans like grin factor or other junk you can buy off eBay. This is a quality product, engineered for bikers, built to a standard and not a price, that retails and sells for between £89.99-149.99 in dealerships and shops.

PM if interested.

Cheers

Hi guys and girls, passed my tests mid dec and bought a 1999 fzs600 a few days after. Its much like the bike I learnt on in style comfort and handling so the familiarity appealed to me and im loving it so far. I use it as my daily hack and also or any other excuse to go somewhere, I have even taken my evo off the road for some work ro be done so plenty more riding. Weather isnt great at the min with the winds and rain but ill get through it and into summer a better rider I think.

  Stuttering At Low Revs
Posted by: arch33angel - 08-01-14, 10:16 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (7)

The last few times I have ridden my 03 600 around town it has been stuttering quite a lot at low revs. When I give it the gas it lurches for a second or two before taking off. I'm having to constantly cover the clutch in case it stalls. Any ideas? Thanks.
