Fitted new bars, opinions please!
Posted by: spencer_foxwell - 08-01-14, 05:01 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (44)

Not quite finished because I need to get the old bar mounts off but lack a good enough spanner to do it without lunching the nut and I need to get shorter cabling and lines. The black mounts either side of the headlight are for a screen which I took off for this but it will probably go back on. Smile

Oh and I have some small round bar end mirrors to fit but ran out of time before it started raining Sad

Thoughts? I've never ridden a sport bike before but I am now getting the achy wrists, will I get used to that?

  Chain adjustment nuts - size?
Posted by: Fuzzy - 08-01-14, 04:59 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (2)

My chain adjuster nuts are looking very sorry for themselves despite regular acf50.... I think I'll replace them with stainless ones, does anybody know what size they are? M8?

Would check myself but I'm away from my bike atm.

  Rentec luggage rack install
Posted by: Gav - 08-01-14, 11:23 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (12)

Just received a rentec luggage rack so I can stop carrying my laptop n lunch box in a rucksack and have ground to a halt on what could be the easiest  of things to fit.
No fixing kit included only a piece of paper saying you should use the original fixings in the grab rail that you take off.
Well the original fixings bolts are too short to go through the rack fixing holes then through the original collet spacers.
So before I get the hack saw out and chop down the collects, what other cunning methods have others done here and what and where did you get the bits to install it? Cheers dudes.

P's looks as if I will need longer bolts even if I cut the collets down as there will only be a couple of threads biting in the captive nut.

My wife wants one. Its a funky little thing and seems well put together and the Diesel does nearly 80mpg combined. Does anyone have one and what do they think of it?

  New headstock bearings...but
Posted by: reillypadraig - 08-01-14, 08:14 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (8)

Fitted new headstock bearings, but now feels heavy, at slow speeds like turning a cruise ship, like as if front wheel was flat, but it's different bearings, old 1's were the ball bearings, new 1 is the roller bearings, much more of a surface to move against? Old bearing had like 12 balls in them? New rollers have like 25-30? Maybe just extra surface friction?

Pioneer HDJ 1000 Headphones - Brand New - £30 posted
Posted by: adeejaysdelight - 08-01-14, 02:02 AM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (3)

Hi Guys,

I have 6 pairs of surplus headphones for sale. I bought them as a drop-ship order to give as gifts to friends and colleagues at Christmas. The package arrived from Europe and it says on the box they are made in Japan, so I think they are genuine, although I could not be 100% certain. They are brand new in box and they are £30 delivered to UK mainland, which is what I paid for them. I have a pair as my spare ones in the studio (I use Sennheiser HD25-1 II as my full time cans) and have given a couple of pairs to my mate who is still an active nightclub DJ. They sound good and feel quite nice. Certainly better than other headphones at this price.

If you are interested, PM me.

Remove paint from my Fazer headlights :(
Posted by: HazzaBui - 08-01-14, 12:55 AM - Forum: General - Replies (18)

Posting in general as I want general paint removal tips, rather than fzs specific advice.

A couple of nights ago, some little shits decided to give my bike a bit of a makeover, in the form of covering my headlights with spray paint (I've attached some images).  They also sprayed the seat, but I'm not particularly worried about that - more concerned by my non functioning light  :'(

So! I was hoping people could offer some (preferably cheap) ways to remove this paint, that won't damage the headlight plastic/fairing.

As always, any info, pages I can read, past experience etc is all very much appreciated!

Thanks  Smile
HazzaBui
