Stuttering At Low Revs - arch33angel - 08-01-14 The last few times I have ridden my 03 600 around town it has been stuttering quite a lot at low revs. When I give it the gas it lurches for a second or two before taking off. I'm having to constantly cover the clutch in case it stalls. Any ideas? Thanks. Re: Stuttering At Low Revs - darrsi - 08-01-14 I'd start by having the carbs balanced. Re: Stuttering At Low Revs - hightower - 08-01-14 Wet or dry? Mine was doing something similar last year after it had sat in the rain all day. A good dose of WD40 on the plugs and caps and it hasn't been an issue since. Re: Stuttering At Low Revs - His Dudeness - 09-01-14 I'd agree with hightower. It sounds like the symptoms of arcing from the spark plug caps or ht leads to me Re: Stuttering At Low Revs - arch33angel - 09-01-14 Thanks guys. With this weather I haven't been putting the raincover on my Fazer much as the bike is usually wet when I get home so water could be the problem. Carb balance wouldn't go amiss either as it's been a while. Will check and WD40 plug area to start with. Re: Stuttering At Low Revs - His Dudeness - 09-01-14 Try taking the caps off one at a time and take the rubber boot off the cap and see if there's water. Also look for marks on the base of the cap from arcing Re: Stuttering At Low Revs - hightower - 09-01-14 It was quite alarming when it happened to mine as I automatically went in to the mindset of "oh sh*t, electrics. This is gonna be expensive". I think it was around April 2013 when I had the issue and since spraying it hasn't reared it's head once - hope your issue is as simple. Re: Stuttering At Low Revs - arch33angel - 16-01-14 Turned out it was just a faulty plug so a new set is now installed and bike running well. Thanks for your input guys. |
