How to fill handlebars with expandable foam
Posted by: HarryHornby - 22-02-14, 11:29 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (27)

Hi All,

I remember a while back someone one here said about filling the handlebars with expandable foam to try and reduce the 6k rev buzz.....yep, I had it on the old bike and have it on this new bike.

How do I get inside the handlebars??  I've taken the bar weights off and removed the grips but I can't see a way to remove the inner part that the bar ends screw into, without removing this I can't squirt in the foam.

Cheers

Ticking sound from left side of engine
Posted by: Camshaft - 22-02-14, 10:01 AM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (5)

Stationary at 1.5-3K revs I can hear a ticking sound from the left side of engine, right side is normal.
Could this be noisy valves needing adjustment? thats all I can guess

Dropped foxeye - with help from the wind?
Posted by: Muddi Camel - 21-02-14, 11:11 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (3)

I think the wind helped my foxeye onto its side.
Certainly broke the brake lever, fairing's not happy, bar end, mirror, foot peg and can have all got damage. The peg even left a hole in the tarmac - I've not checked for further damage................                  not really sure I want to.
J&S used to be the local yamaha agent (handy as they're really close).  I imagine I could find the bits on fleabay unless you've got any suggestions for dealers of good used bits?
Thanks

  fazer coughing

hi.

iv'e had my Fazer for a while now, and iv'e never had a problem with it.

but recently iv'e stopped riding it through the winter months, and was using my scooter for a bit.

but about 2 week ago i got it out and because the weather was nice. everything seemed as normal, it started and ran fine. not a problem

but set off on it after warming it up. and about about 4000 rpm as iv'e let the clutch out and give it a small hand full of throttle. it has a slight cough. just enough to be annoying. it seems to go away slightly as the bike gets up to its running temp.

also its always been serviced etc.

but one thing i did change before i stopped riding it. it had a vacuum Scott oiler, which i took off and sold. i caped the vacuum port off with a rubber cap so that makes me think its not a vacuum problem. however the carbs now may need balancing due to me changing something that was connected to a vacuum port.

anyone got any theory's before i let my mechanic look at it would be much appreciated  Big Grin
