Ticking sound from left side of engine - Camshaft - 22-02-14 Stationary at 1.5-3K revs I can hear a ticking sound from the left side of engine, right side is normal. Could this be noisy valves needing adjustment? thats all I can guess Re: Ticking sound from left side of engine - richfzs - 22-02-14 It's the farkle gland needing attention. Do a search on here, easy enough to fix. Re: Ticking sound from left side of engine - Camshaft - 22-02-14 the sun is shining where I am, otherwise I don't understand Re: Ticking sound from left side of engine - Camshaft - 24-02-14 any suggestions appreciated! Re: Ticking sound from left side of engine - Falcon 269 - 24-02-14 Any ticking noise on the left side would have me checking the EXUP for slack cables or other wear. Even though it may appear that the noise is originating higher up, eliminate the EXUP first. Is the noise more/less noticeable when the engine is up to working temp? Even though it may appear that the noise is originating higher up, eliminate the EXUP first. I did adjust EXUP cables a couple of months ago when hearing a rattle on start up which eliminated it. The current ticking sound I have only noticed when warmed up so I guess a warmer EXUP could be the cause I guess you are suggesting. So this weekend an follow up of cable tension will hopefully restore things back to normality. |
