  Newbie from Scotland...with photos
Posted by: Callum - 11-06-14, 08:50 PM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (11)

Hi folks, I'm Callum from Bathgate in Scotland. Passed my test last year and bought myself a 07 plate FZ6 with only 2k on the clock.

Me and my mate from work decided to plan a road trip around Scotland...I just arrived back a couple of hours ago and wanted to share some photos of what was an amazing 5 days of riding. To give a quick breakdown, on day 1 we did Dunfirmline to Aviemore via Glenshee and the Cairngorms - 180 miles, day 2 we did Aviemore to Dunnet Head - 200 miles, day 3 we did Dunnet Head to Skye - 320 miles, day 4 we did Skye to Glencoe - 150 miles and day 5 we did Glencoe to Bathgate via Lochgilphead, Arrochar and Loch Lomond. Pretty much went up the East coast and back down the West coast.

Hope you enjoy the photos  Smile

fazer has gone to pastures new, for now i have reached the end of this bikes evolution as far as i feel it can go tastefully (and thats open to opinion)

enjoyed the 5 i have done and all the spin off that came with the mods done

i still will do plugs and shocks and will still be here as turning attention to the fz1 now (groan i here some say)

Does anyone recognise the user name cruddles? Think they may have been a past member on the old yuku board. Not sure if they were a past owner of my bike. Would be interested to know what useen mods the bike has had.

well as you know a month aga today i wrote off my vfr12. So  it was replaced with a brand new fazer 8. After 2 weeks i just did not like the F8. So today the wife and i went and picked up my new toy.
Its an August 2011 Kawasaki ZZR1400. I'm happy again and so is the wife as she now has the F8 Big Grin

  my vibration has disappeared
Posted by: fazersteve1000 - 11-06-14, 07:16 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (4)

I have owned my fzs1000 since march 2006[it was one of the last of the gen 1] at 2000miles I fitted a hyperpro front & rear springs which I was quite happy with until last year when at 21000 miles it was time to spend a bit of money on the best bike I ever owned,so last june I fitted a the upgraded r6 shock together with a set of Avon storms xm & a genuine chain & sprocket kit,the one thing I was disappointed with was the vibration thru the handlebars as I remember fitting chains kits to XS650s/CB750s/Z1 etc & it was like having a new bike but after fitting the original sprocket kit I was a bit disappointed that the bike felt  no smoother than before, when I was over the classic tt last August I asked a friend to take my bike out to see what he thought & he confirmed there was to much vibration there so when I got home I reved it up to 4000rpm on the mainstand to confirm how much vibration was there,i then slackened all the engine bolts off & restarted it on the main stand & reved it to 4000rpm & all the vibration had gone,i was so happy it had just gone & this bike has not been fitted with the ivans kit yet,i did then torque all the bolts back up to the correct figures but the vibration had come back,i then undone the bolts again & just done then up by hand & it has been super smooth since then,i just come back from the tt where I clocked up 1000miles & it still super smooth & all the bolts are tight so hope this has helped someone

  Pilot Jets
Posted by: humbucker88 - 11-06-14, 05:08 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (3)

A couple of my pilot jets are gummed up, whats the best way to clean them? Been spraying carb cleaner through them to no avail, and don't have access to a sonicator. Would a very thin wire damage them? (no idea where i'd get one though, thing guitar string possibly?)
