Luggage options for FZ1S - NOT Givi or Kappa
Posted by: roxburd - 12-04-21, 09:21 AM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (6)

Hey all,

I have a 2001 FZS Fazer 1000 with the Givi kit fitted and I'm very happy with it. It's not the prettiest thing ever but it doesn't stand out too bad and it gets the job done. It looks like this:

I'm looking for luggage options for a 2013 FZ1S Fazer 1000 and I'm seeing this:

Now... I understand that the tail is much shorter on the FZ1S... so that causes issues for mounting luggage... but hmmm. Well, it does look a bit like a load of scaffolding hung off the back of the bike. That's unfortunate but the big problem for me is that the black side rail that supports the top plate actually obscures the rear light! When I think about my trip back from the IoM a couple of years back, 6 hours at night in rain so heavy you couldn't see a thing... the thought of someone joining the carriageway behind me and my rear light being obscured by my luggage... Well, that's enough for me to avoid the bike altogether - if I can't fit it with a luggage system that's safe.

So my question is, are there any other luggage system options for the FZ1S?

Cheers,
Dave

FZS600 99 Seat and Hugger wanted SORTED!
Posted by: sparky88 - 11-04-21, 08:19 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - No Replies

Hello I am looking a Hugger for a 99 FZS600  black or if they do them grey? It would need to be in good shape and of course cheap would need posting to BT53 6HF, The price of these have went through the roof since I last bought one, all the best Sparky.
PS add a seat for said Fazer as I bought it blind? I did not realise  there could be someone shorter than me who has cut down the seat and now it is very uncomfortable  to say the least, other than that great bike in great shape.
Thanks sorted!

  Help with spring change
Posted by: festerbestertester - 11-04-21, 05:11 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (6)

I am struggling to change the fork springs on my FZS 600 02 model. When I unscrew the endcap it does not come away from the slider and consequently cannot be removed. Any advice much appreciated.

  Marc Marquez returns to MotoGP

Marquez has been declared fit to race, returning next weekend for the GP in Portimao. With 16 races remaining on the calendar, and a 40 point deficit, I certainly wouldn’t bet against him.

  misfire @ 5k - 8k rpm
Posted by: 74eldiablo - 11-04-21, 09:41 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (17)

The last time i rode my bike back in late september it ran sweet no problems, in mid october i decided to clean the bike it fired up ok but when i rode it a little bit i noticed there was a misfire around 5k - 8k.. i put this down to the fact i had not disconnected the battery and i needed charging that why it was misfiring.

The battery has been on the optimate for well over a month now, went back the garage yesterday hooked up the battery and tried to start it didnt start straight away, i left it 5 mins and it fired up and was ticking over without any problems once i had warmed it up i again had a little ride and the same thing is still there, bike has done 33k.

I changed the plugs back in the UK when i bought the bike to ngk iridium they have done maximum 1000 miles,
I need to get this fixed as a divorce bill means sadly my bike has to go, anyone any ideas.

Thanks in advance

FZS 1000 2004 model sales brochure.
Posted by: Decoke Dave - 10-04-21, 11:49 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - No Replies

Just wondering what is the correct sales brochure for my Fazer?  It's a late registered 04 model on an 05 plate, checked with Fowlers years ago. The question is should the brochure be marked #3MC-0107004-03E.  The 03 near the end seems to relate to the year but I have never seen an FZS 1000 brochure marked 04E!  The two production years, 03 and 04 FZS 1000s I believe are exactly the same machines, tuning fork logo on the tank and exactly the same colours were available which makes me think there is possibly only one sales brochure marked 03E.  I am sure some of the immensely learned Fazer gurus on here will know!

  rounded allen head brake pin
Posted by: butthead - 10-04-21, 04:56 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (4)

first thing to state this is not on my fazer but on my triumph bonneville but im sure you will offer your kind help whatever bike it is .

so i was intending to change brake pads on the rear today , got as far as breaking bolts before removing the caliper has two brake pins with threaded heads then shank so the threads are immediately after the pin head and part of the pin head, it sits flush (fully in ) with the caliper casting, its rounded to buggery now and i need a way to get it out. as it sits flush with the casting these is no access to any part of the pin head, its a 5mm allen head and not a lot of meat to the head beyond the allen head insert itself . so it not a good scenario , not protruding , not a lot of metal around the head and seized tight and rounded to buggery.

stating the obvious its the lower  in the pic , the other came out going back in for now copper greased etc
any help?

  SOLD: FZS1000 2001 VGC - £2700ovno - SOLD
Posted by: Boris - 10-04-21, 04:45 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - No Replies

For sale Blue FZS1000 2001 VGC.
No longer available.

Due to lack of use I am reluctantly selling my FZS1000 gen 1 :o . I’ve owned the bike for about 10 years, it’s just turned 25k on the clock and is currently sorn.It has 12 months mot, new back tyre, new battery, new seat cover and oil and filter change. The majority of the servicing has been carried out by myself and I have kept many of the receipts.

Right the good bits: Big Grin

 • Full monty upgrade.
 • R6 rear shock conversion.
 • Hagon front fork spring upgrade.
 • Metmachex bespoke swingarm.
 • Bespoke centrestand.
 • Datatool immobiliser.
 • Accumen gear indicator.
 • Givi top box and pannier racks. (No luggage)
 • Hugger.
 • Bellypan
 • Heated grips.
 • Braided brake hoses.
 • USB/ 12 v socket.
 • Scottoiler.
 • Devil silencer.
 • Bespoke undertray.
 • There’s bound to be something else I’ve forgotten.
Bad bits:
 • None really, just general wear and tear. For a 20 year old bike it’s in pretty good nick.
As I say it is a reluctant sale. The missus ain’t too keen on it going. But apart from firing it up occasionally I haven’t used it properly for 18 months, and covid hasn’t helped either. If it goes, it goes, if doesn’t. No great shakes.
