Fuel Gauge Issues
Posted by: old son - 09-01-22, 12:58 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (5)

I have recently refitted my fuel tank. I have a TFT dash and it was showing 2 bars when I removed and when I refitted. I've just filled up and the gauge is still showing the same reading. I've tried shorting out the plug from the loom but the gauge shows the same. Maybe I didn't leave is long enough?

Am I right in thinking that by shoring out the plug in the loom under the left cover the gauge should be showing full?

Is there a separate fuse for the fuel gauge?

Are there any connections or joins between the plug under the left hand cover and the plug that connects the TFT?

Thanks

Rebuilt carb… These parts left over

Hi everyone I rebuilt my carbs on my fazer just for something to do over winter.I have these parts left over. I think them was inside the spring that goes over the nut inbetween the throttle arms.I have checked the service Manuel, I even checked the spare parts catalog l… I cannot find  what they or where they go. I assume it was inbetween the sync screw and spring but they are definitely too tall. They definitely came from the bit inbetween carb 1&2.. the other is definitely from inbetween 3&4..First time working on any carbs ever so I’m in the dark.

  Starter not working
Posted by: festerbestertester - 07-01-22, 03:29 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (19)

Came to start the bike this morning and there is no noise from the starter motor or the fuel pump. The battery is fine, fuses okay and lights work. Would appreciate any advice.

  Non-fazer, and/or non-Yamaha tech. topics?
Posted by: Slaninar - 07-01-22, 11:58 AM - Forum: Your Suggestions and How you can help - Replies (3)

What are your thoughts on posting questions related to motorcycles that aren't Fazers/MTs, or even not Yamahas?

I got a question about a Ural motorcycle kick-start not engaging problem. I know next to nothing about Ural motorcycles. I suppose it's a spring, and/or a pawl damage problem, but can't be certain. And I suppose that not engaging when it's very cold is the first sign of trouble. But that's mostly guesswork on my part - far from the knowledgeable expert.
The first thing that came to mind was to direct the person asking to this forum. There are some very knowledgeable people here, that seem knowledgeable with (motorcycle) mechanics in general, probably not "just" the Fazers/Yamahas.

But the question is whether people are happy and willing to have non-fazer stuff here. Yes, I'm sure there is a Ural forum somewhere, but I'd rather take an "it's probably..." from the people on FOC, than "it must be..." from a forum I have no idea about.
Having more members is not necessarily good - quantity doesn't always provide more quality. But it's also not bad in and of itself.

Anyway, I suppose the best thing is to ask.

Can and should we have a non-Yamaha/non-Fazer section?
Do you think it's a good idea?
Can I direct the poor sobs who don't speak my native to this wretched place?  Smile

  Fairing loom blanks?
Posted by: beuleux - 05-01-22, 08:40 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (6)

Hi all
On my 08 FZ1 there are some blanked plugs in the wiring loom under the left had trim cover and one with no female end, does anyone know what they're for? The bike was like that when I got it with no issues as yet, I found some bodge wiring for heated grips which I removed. If nothing else I'd like to satisfy my curiosity
Thanks ?

*oops just realised should have posted this is fazer corner.. doh!
