  Identifying part help.
Posted by: No - 29-08-21, 10:41 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (10)

Hi there just wondering if anyone could identify this part for me, it unscrews from underneath the starter button/throttle cable on the handlebars (99 fzs) . It has 2 small spade ends that plug into it, 1 is broken and left inside this part (please forgive the wording)

I was on a ride yesterday and made it a good few miles but then the engine was cutting out whenever i would depress the clutch lever to change gear.

I pulled over and while it would bump start fine, as soon as i held in the clutch it would cut out.

The starter motor would not stop engaging when i held the clutch in, this was prior to me breaking the spade end of said part.

I figured now i'll strip the whole bike and have it as a winter project, so just seeking this part out.

Again, forgive the wording and the long winded description.

Any help appreciated.

My Fazer 1000 runs unevenly at 3000rpm. Where can I buy the best dyno jet kit? Have Bos slip on mounted on it.

R1 shock from 2008 model + satan666 adapter for Yamaha FZ1 2nd generation. Suitable for bikes without ABS only. No modifications required for the bike, direct replacement. Raises the bike a little bit. Improves rear suspension quite a lot, smoother riding quality in general. Fully adjustable (preload, fast/slow compression damping, rebound damping). Rare item as these adapters is hard to get. Selling due to bike being sold with OEM bits. If any questions, please let me know. Thanks!

  Ticking front brake
Posted by: babemagnet - 22-08-21, 01:03 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (3)

I've done a forum search but can't find anything similar so here goes........

I have just done full service on front brakes . New EBC discs, new EBC organic discs, new seals throughout, new fluid and new bleed screws. The only things that aren't new are the calipers. All was assembled with a touch of red rubber grease.

Problem I have is that when I apply the brake I get a fast ticking sound which remains throughout braking and slowly goes away after release. The ticking is faster than once every wheel rotation. I can only think this is some form of interaction between the edges of the pads and the edges of the holes in the discs although I have never had this noise when just replacing pads. I have changed pads from left to right but the ticking remains.

Has anyone else had this?

Will it disappear when everything settles down and wears in?
