Carb Inlet Rubbers |

Hi, Does anyone have a good recent experience with purchasing replacement carb inlet rubbers (FZS1000 2002), eBay or whatever?
I’m fairly sure mine are shot. Just back on the road after winter lay-up and the Bike is stuttering at idle/very low revs and I can see WD40 kind of moving (not exactly getting sucked in) in the cracks and around the clamp on the left outside carb…. ?
Could also be blocked idle jet(s) I suppose but either way I don’t think the current rubbers will stand the trauma of getting the carbs off and on again!
Many Thanks.

Speed sensor fusing: power / current requirements |

I did a good amount of searching before posting. Apologies if this is old ground.
So...as we all know the speed sensor has 3 cables: live/power, signal/drive, and earth.
I'm replacing the speedometer and the OEM speed sensor live is actually out of the speedo unit itself rather than from the switched live like everything else.
I've had the speedo apart and done some testing on the circuit board. As far as I can tell it's some kind of voltage regulation that's going on, seems like this could protect the sensor and/or make it more accurate. Does anyone know the reason?
In any case I'm replacing the speedo, so the sensor will just have to connect to the switched live now. So to make sure I don't fry my speed sensor I'm planning to put a fuse in. Does anyone know what power/current it would draw? I have the electrics in bits at the minute so it's tricky for me to measure with a multimeter!
Cheers

Hi, I've had my '99 Fazer 600 since September. All good so far.
I'm making some modifications and the content on here is great. Thank you all, especially for the corrected Haynes wiring diagrams, I was doing loops there for a while...
Cheers, al

Soz , its a bit late but ive been doing a lot of head scratching :z .
Ive just spent 3 days putting a new cam chain in,, around 75000 on old one so new one needed. No adjustment left on tensioner. :'(
All seemed ok. Running in shed ,, didnt rev to much in shed as i wanted all engine parts to settle and oil to flow round.
Then off for wee run.
Out of drive and i noticed shutting off throttle and the revs were'nt dropping too quick. Not sticking open , just coming down slowly. :rolleyes
Just a short run and still the same at the end.
But i never touched the carbs,,, just took them off,,, and put them back on. Yep cables were off but when i put them on i checked the throttle and it was'nt sticking just usual nice spring back when you let go. And again after run ,, throttle just snaps back but revs come down slow.
any ideas, cause i confuzzed :o

Hi All,
I've been having some issues with my clutch which have now progressed and need some immediate attention.
How it started:
When changing from first to second the gearbox would jump out of second and back to neutral. This would occur particularly after hard acceleration. After one or two goes I could get the bike to go into second.
After a while this would occur at any rate of acceleration. Also the bike would sometimes skip second and jump into third.
How it's going now:
Now the bike struggles to get into second. When changing from first to second it will go straight to neutral and then it'll be like there are no more gears. I can get it to go to second after a lot of tries but then have issues getting back to first.
When the bike is in each gear the behaviour is normal. No clutch slip or anything else that's unusual. It just an issue when changing gears.
From what I've read on here, it seems like this might be an issue with the gear selector forks or maybe the clutch springs. It would be good to hear some thoughts from people on here. Maybe the problem could be something else and there might be a procedure to follow for proper diagnosis of the problem.
