I need to get out more
Posted by: agricola - 20-03-23, 06:13 PM - Forum: General - Replies (7)

Took the bike to the MOT station this afternoon, passed with no advisories, but how sad that I only rode 1400 miles last year, with a third those on track at Donington.

  Fazer FZS1000 Seat
Posted by: Timbo - 18-03-23, 02:21 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - No Replies

Hi all

An Seat for sale - this has been modified by someone prior to me buying it. It is probably 1/2" lower than standard, some of the foam has been removed which has got rid of the angled edges of the original seat. Whoever did it made a good job of it.

Purchased for my wife to ride the Fazer, she never did, but I used the seat all the time as I found it more comfortable and preferred it to the standard.

£80 including postage

Best wishes

Timbo

  Expensive vs cheaper brake rotors
Posted by: Texan67 - 17-03-23, 09:26 AM - Forum: General - Replies (4)

I'm going to be buying new brake rotors. I ride twisty roads at a good pace and do 1-2 track days a year. Nothing too serious.

I'm wondering what spending more money would get me, if anything. I'm looking at the two in the links below. The first is a no-name ebay brand $426 for all three rotors and new pads. The second is a single front Braking brand rotor for $388.

Just wondering if there is any real difference. Even if someone is actually racing, what would the difference be? They're all floating rotors.

EDIT

The ebay links wouldn't show but the no-name brand is at the 'Extreme Shop" ebay store. Both rotors look similar, they're wave rotors with black centers. So you get the picture.

Should the side stand have a wavy washer to take up free play?  mine seems to have a lot of movement although bolt is tight

  Removing the Flywheel
Posted by: BJohnD - 08-03-23, 03:44 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (5)

Help!! has anyone had problems removing the flywheel on an FZS1000? I've tightened it as much as I can and been hitting it with a hammer, I have even bought the Yamaha puller but it won't budge.
Am I missing something? Has anyone got any tips?
I only need it off to split the casings and change a bearing.

3rd cylinder cold - blocked air passage ?
Posted by: siedlik - 08-03-23, 12:34 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (11)

Hello,

There are 2 holes in front of the carb, is there a screw or jet that could be blocked? As the 3rd cylinder is cold at idle, but it's fine when going above 5000rpm.
I did rebuild the carbs, but not sure if I've seen a screw in one of those holes. Will have to take the carbs out again  :rolleyes

Just found a video and looks like that could be the issue.
Thanks

You ask how much for this once in a year extravaganza and what do you get for your wonga.

Well let me tell you for a small amount of £120
You get a bunk for the weekend
You get ALL THE BLOODY FOOD YOU CAN EAT
You get ALL THE BLOODY ALCHOL YOU CAN DRINK
You get a great band
And the most important part you get FIRE LOTS OF FIRE

Now if your camp and fancy camping that’s great you can do that for a small cost of £80
Which also gets the above STUFF
