Clutch draggin when hot

Hi All,
I have just recently changed my friction plates, steel plates, springs and pressure plate on my clutch.
Before that I changed the clutch cable, however when the clutch get hot, normally half way during my ride home from work,
it starts to drag and becomes almost impossible to get neutral.
In the morning it is fine until just round the corner from work.
I am now pulling what little hair I have left out as I have now run out of ideas as to what could be causing this.
and yes I left the friction plates to soak overnight and have check the cable tension and all is fine.
Could an oil change fix the issue or is it something else I have missed?
I did a search in the forum and came across a post with exactly the same issues but there was no solution as it seems that it sorted it self out.
Cheers
Stu

I've got a mint low mile 2003 Fazer. I want to streetfighter it without destroying any of the original parts. Does anyone know if a R1 2002/2003 seat unit can go on without cutting the rear frame? Front end's easy, got that worked out already. Cheers in advance.

I've just got myself a Fazer 8 and it came with the rear carrier, i've searched on the forum and from reading here http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php?topic=6987.0 it looks like i cant simply replace that with the standard rear grab handles as the cut-outis visibly larger.
Basically does this mean i have to replace the whole rear tail cowl to return it to the standard fitment with standard rear grab handles.

Gen 1 1000 "smelling hot"

Had my bike for just over a month now and am mighty impressed with it. One thing I've noticed is that if it's been use at low speed for a while it sometimes "smells hot". The fan works and coolant is at the correct level. Maybe it's because of the stoneguard fitted to the rad by a previous owner?? Anyone had the same symptoms? Temp light doesn't come on so presume all is well!

Hi All,
The wiring to the headlights, front indicators etc. is attached to the rest of the loom by a couple of connector blocks under the left hand side fairing panel. I want to remove the fairing, and my manual helpfully says I need to disconnect these, but doesn't give any indication as to how they come apart. They don't seem to be a simple push fit, and so far my squeezing, pulling and cursing hasn't persuaded them to separate. Can anyone give me any guidance as to what the mechanism holding the connectors together is, and how to pull them apart?
Many thanks
Andy

Valve Clearance

Afternoon,
Planning on checking the clearance soon, but in advance I would like to know any bits and bobs I would need before proceeding.. I.E. New seals etc?
I heard from a few mechanics (at yamaha dealerships) saying that when removing the big (water?) pipe that goes down through the top of the engine, I would need to replace a seal as once it has been removed, it is no longer any good.
I'd appreciate any and all feedback regarding a valve clearance check.
My mate is very handy with mechanics, welder by trade and has built trucks, bikes the lot - but as this is the first Fazer clearance he has done, we are just getting feelers out there.
Thanks
Scott
