  Headstock Bearing questions
Posted by: Html33 - 19-09-16, 02:02 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (8)

Hi guys

Just bought my self, my first Fazer. See picture! I have got this for a few months until summer starts again and i can get another sports bike.
Seems to run fairly well, although has a little CCT rattle.

It also needs a new headstock bearing.
I'm looking to get one and in my experience with bearings it's best to go to a specialist website and get a decent brand which i what i intend to do.

I can see that the upper bearing size is

25x47x15

And lower

30x55x17

I can high quality bearings very easily
Anyone know what seals I would need? It'll be the upper and lower seal so two in total.

If I am unable to find them, I'm going to have to buy one of the pre-made kits, which i would rather avoid doing as they don't normally use as good a' bearings as say SKF.

Thanks for your help

Hi all,

Due to a change in my work circumstances, I'm about to find myself with some free time for the next 2 months.  Smile

I'm thinking, to stop me getting bored and to make a bit of pocket money, I'll offer my services to work on motorbikes...
I'm in North West London and can travel, so bear me in mind if you have any jobs that need doing on your bike and I might be able to help you out.  Smile

Brett

As you can see it’s well and truly focced. The 1st thing was a shot blast to remove all the crap, It's a lot worse than I expected
A piece of steel  tubing bent slightly and squished at the ends in a vice makes a good replacement.
With the feet Tac welded to a bar and a screwed rod keeping the spar distance safe it’s safe to mig weld.
I'm spraying it back to black today, lets hope it fits alright.

  Help with wiring connector!
Posted by: Emerald Rider - 17-09-16, 08:19 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (3)

Hi,

Would someone be able to take a photo of the 10 pin connector block under the left hand fairing to identify the colour match of the wires on the socket and plug please? I replaced this on my bike as it was corroded, most of the wires were the same color coding on the plug an socket side, but one, I'm assuming the colors match as I wasn't clever enough to take note or a photo of the wiring, Doh!. I'm now paranoid that I have got the wires in the plug and socket mixed as the bike won't start and the lights won't work.

Any help greatly appreciated!
