  Stator rotor
Posted by: Ratters - 19-06-23, 08:17 AM - Forum: Fazer 8 / FZ8 - Replies (1)

Thinking of buying an FZ8 , it’s a Cat N had minor damage all repaired seems lime a bargain, full luggage , black 24000 miles and good history. Only thing is they don’t know if the Stator , Rotor has been done. If it hasn’t how critical is it at this mileage and how much is it likely to cost to replace.
Currently have an FZS 600.
Cheers!

**SOLD** - Universal Motorcycle Side Stand Prong
Posted by: Peanut - 18-06-23, 07:55 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (2)

I purchased this recently in an attempt to make using the side stand on my FZ6S easier. Every other bike I've owned has always had a little prong welded on near the foot of the stand, and I've found it a bit awkward twisting my foot to get a toe or heel in the right place to flick the stand down in one swift/smooth movement, especially when wearing my Alpinestars boots. Anyway, this prong works a treat, but on the FZ6S, the bracket of the prong catches on the centre stand, preventing the side stand from fully retracting. So not ideal, and hence it's for sale.

However, it really does make a difference if you find it difficult to put the side stand down, or up, whilst sitting on your bike, especially if wearing sports-style boots, it's just more suited to bikes without a centre stand fitted.
The item is listed on eBay (£8.00 inc P&P):

Another one on a modern Fazer
Posted by: BBROWN1664 - 18-06-23, 07:09 PM - Forum: MT Models - MT07 / 09 (Tracer) & MT10 - Replies (4)

I have finally gone and got one. 2016 MT09 Tracer. Needs a bit of a clean and one or two minor things fixing but it was a bargain and had to be had.

I nearly went for this one though. 2017 with just 500 mile son the clock!

NOT for sale: 2000, FZS600S, Boxeye
Posted by: GMak81 - 17-06-23, 11:42 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (17)

Hi everybody

I bought an FZS600 last year and was intended long term keeper, bur sadly due to the purchase of a new bike it needs to go -

Details:

  • 2000 (w reg) w/28k, 8 previous owners.
  • MoT expires 15/06/2024
  • Oil and filter was changed at 25k
  • I'm based in Ipswich, Suffolk.
  • bike has 2 keys, runs and is in good condition.
  • pass auto trader checkes, so bike is clean financially.
  • Battlax tyres.
Accesories & mods:
  • full Black Widow exhaust system
  • Hel braided hoses.
  • Rear hugger
Other:
  • My mechanic did a top end service and discovered that while valve clearance is fine, the automatic camchain tensioner has failed. The bike runs, but it needs the full camchain system replacing (This has ben rebutted by Gnasher & BBrown - bike just need a good threash to loosen it up for the tension to auto adjust).
  • I wanted to advertise it for sale here as I'm sure someone will have the knowledge, skills and desire to take this on as a project.  Unfortunately I can't justify spending more money on it and I've now bought a new bike.
  • I've advertised it on Bike Trader with the tyres and brake lines for £800. If you're interested please consider giving me a PM, or replying in this thread. It would be great if someone could go on to enjoy the bike going into the future.
regards

Glenn
