  Clutch Basket removal help needed
Posted by: Graham53 - 11-03-17, 06:30 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (3)

upon replacing clutch springs today I was torqueing the spring bolts up and one of them bloody sheared  :'(
So my only option now is to replace the inner basket , which luckily I have in my shed  Smile .
However I don't have a removal/ locking tool does anyone have any way of safely removing the inner basket without the tool.
Apart from this aggro what's really frustrating is , I took it off sorn and taxed it , insured it and fitted new T30 Bridgestones to it , got oil and filter to do after and now I can't bloody ride it  :'( :'(
Please help.

Down the pub - the thread about nothing and everything
Posted by: nick crisp - 11-03-17, 04:06 PM - Forum: General - Replies (803)

One thing I don't much like about internet forums is how every thread has to have a subject, and people can get annoyed if you stray from that topic (sometimes understandably, if you're after specific technical advice for example). So I wondered how a thread about nothing in particular might work, where you can digress in whatever direction you choose, like a real conversation face to face might do over a pint or three of an evening.

Fzs600 boxeye screen - blue and various anodized bits
Posted by: iamthearrison - 11-03-17, 11:56 AM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - No Replies

As title, was fitted to my bike when I bought it, I've since replaced it with a standard one. Taller than the standard, not sure of brand etc. Also fuel cap bolts, bar ends, screen bolts, valve caps, oil filler cap and (if I can get it off) top yoke nut in anodized blue. 15 quid.

  average age?

Nothing personal folks, just wondering what our average age is. Are we knocking on a bit or are we mere spring chickens? I know we're all under 25 in our heads but it's what's on our birth certificates that interests me.  How old are we as a breed of foccers?

  Mike the Bike

Click the link below to read about Mike Hailwood, surly one of the best racers in history.

I watched him race up at Oulton Park years ago after his come back when he came out of retirement, Mike was up against Giacomo Agostina, Ago was on his MV Agusta, Mike was on an AJS, Ago had almost twice to power, but each time coming into the tight bends Mike was up on his tail but never had the power to get by. Mike was out braking him and out cornering him but just did not have the grunt. Agostini won the race but Mike pushed him hard. Ten years out of the saddle and came back in 1978 over weight and certainly not at his peak fitness and won the TT on the Island for the 12th time the man was and still is a Legend.

Bikes have come such a long way since then, the guys who ride the TT's now at the speeds they reach are all Heroes in my sight, Speeds back in the 60's & 70's & 80's are nothing like they are now, but the technology then was nothing like it is now and with all the safety features that bikes have now enables higher speeds more stability and reliability. But all the TT riders have massive Balls and I salute you all. :thumbup :woot
I have just notice I call Mike Hailwood 'MIKE' and Giacomo Agostini 'Ago' or 'Agostini' I think it shows were my allegiance lies.

Heard on the radio this afternoon that John Surtees has passed away. The only man to win the World Championship on two and four wheels.
RIP .
