coming home from work this morning on my thou on a two lane stretch of road, me in inside lane stopped at a set of lights, a guy on an xjr1300 pulls alongside.
Yeah he wants to go.
Lights change, boom we're gone.
He was toast.

Bike is running only on 3 cylinders
Posted by: j0nes - 26-07-17, 12:52 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (6)

So my bike started to pull badly on low rpm. I had to drive 400 kilometres because I was long away from home. Firstly it sound like its running on 3 but when it takes 6k rpm it sounds normal again. But now i think its running on 3 cylinders all time and cant go above 120 km/h. I have driven only 2k kilometres on my sparkplugs but i tested my old plugs and it works the same way. 1 cylinder exhaust pipe doesnt heat as much as others. When I emptied carburetors there was much less gasoline on 1 carburetor than others. So can a bad carb balance make that one cylinder isn't running or should I take carbs out and try to clean them? It also backfires on exhaust pipe if accelerate full throttle and then let it go.

So what should i try first? TPS, sync carbutetors or take carbs out and clean.

  cutting out
Posted by: Grizzley - 25-07-17, 07:24 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (11)

ok folks heres a damn annoying one.
i have a 02 series 2 fzs 600. full history, really good nick with 46 k on it.  well it started cutting out after a 5 min ride. loses spark. after a few mins it will start again and ride perfectly for a few miles then cuts out again. it will go all day like this, a few miles then leave for 5 mins, etc etc. it cranks perfectly.
i thought it may have been heat related so left it at 4000 rpm for 20 mins on my drive, fan cut in and out as it should but bike didnt cut out. thought it may be bad connections so checked every connector plug, all perfectly clean and healthy.

help. im going nuts

  Gen 2 downpipes?
Posted by: Dudeofrude - 25-07-17, 03:17 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - No Replies

Are there any aftermarket ones out there? I've found the £900 akraprovic titanium ones and i can dream but with a more realistic view I'm just after some more stainless ones. The standard ones are starting to pit and corrode up near the engine so rather than replace with originals I'm just trying to find an aftermarket solution. Anyone know of anything?

  multi-gauge -- worth it?
Posted by: reggit - 25-07-17, 01:41 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (3)

Now the bike is coming together nicely, I've been wondering about installing a multi-gauge if I can get hold of one.

Anyone use one and recommend it (or not)

cheers.
