Well been a good day, my thou has joined the ivanised ranks.
Massive thanks to Mike, sorted the kit first thing then took the time to do some suspension tweeks, can't wait to get out on the bike and do some miles with the new setup.
Also massive thanks to Joe, the host with the most. Nice to meet Jim and Dave too, we all spend most of the day together talking.

Anyone have any tips to get flat black components back to black? My engine and frame have like a milky coating now? Not sure if it's the wax in the soap that I use for washing it but nothing seems to clean it off. Just wondering if anyone could suggest anything that might work?
My valeter said it need an acid wash or something but sounds a bit too drastic?

Hi Guys
Just registered on this great website, great advise and banter.
Had my bike for a couple of months now still getting to know it but although it is very smooth and performs and sounds great, from cold the timing chain seems to rattle. The noise goes one the engine warms up am I just worrying over nothing or does this need attention. also I have no record and no idea from the previous owner if the valve clearances have ever been checked the mileage is about 24000 now. Cheers George

losing the back under front braking...sometimes? |

Hello guys,
I wonder if there is something wrong with my front brake. Under hard front brake braking (not emergency hard) my back end starts twitching.
I mean even it is not that hard, way way softer then doing stoppies for example. My back wheel is on the ground but I feel I am losing it.
Happened few times in the last week. Once was I needed to shave off some speed to get in a queue I was overtaking and the back started to go hard left and right. I was thinking that is because I was close to the centre paint line maybe the paint was the reason.
Then it hapenned few times in the middle of the lane too under hard front brake braking (not emergency hard), even not that hard lets say ambitious front brake braking.
Any ideas? I don't have ABS. Never happened to me with the Fazer. I know MT09 is lighter, still doesn't feels right. Obviously I have adjusted my riding, but modern bikes are supposed to brake very well. That reminds me 30 years ago with the drum brakes. Forward planing was the key :lol
Anyhow not happy to have fast bike that can't stop well. What is wrong?
