  Fuel gauge not working
Posted by: reggit - 22-07-17, 09:57 AM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (3)

The project bike I bought has a duff fuel gauge.  Thought I'd take a look whilst waiting for other bits to arrive. The green connector on the tank appears open circuit, guessing this should give a resistance?  Still waiting for workshop manual to arrive, so could someone let me know the resistance range so I can check the rest of the wiring/ gauge assembly?

Thanks

  Chain adjuster bolt/locknut
Posted by: Flooky - 21-07-17, 07:45 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (5)

Hi,
Don't know if this has been mentioned before but just a heads up, I thought I would have a nice easy tyre / wheel change today.
The chain adjuster bolt was seized solid ( I mean solid ) plus gas , heat , plus gas , heat etc etc ..freed off . but if it had broken it would have been a drama.
I pride myself in coppersliping everything, my bike is low mileage. garaged, .
If you do a wheel change or chain/sprocket take the bolt all the way out and lube it all. saves later upset.
cheers Flooky

Bike dies when trying to start.....
Posted by: the cueball - 21-07-17, 06:09 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (5)

Hello again!

well, my little donkey Fazer was a victim of the current Edinburgh bike thefts last week.

thankfully, I managed to get it found and returned to me.

the little scrotes snipped all the ignition wires in order to jump start the bike... and rode it away.

when it was recovered, it could still be jump started and ridden..

I've now had all the ignition wires re-connected (matching the colour tracers in the wires) and a big 30 amp fuse replaced.

however, when you hit the starter button, the bike doesn't start, it doesn't even crank.

you can hear the fuel pump working, the battery is fine...

all that happens is the fuel light and oil light come on.... they are not lit up along with the N light when you turn the bike on.

so I'm a bit lost...... has anyone got any ideas?!?!?!

  Honda GB Racing

Honda Racing GB have decided to not compete in the Armoy & UGP road races.
I think it is more down to Guy Martin refusing to ride the bike as it is uncompetitive and is a widow maker.
Let's face it the new SP2 Fire Blade has spat John McGuinness of during practice at the NW200 this year and John is lucky to be still with us. Guy Martin has binned it twice at least and has been openly ctitical about the bike.
