If anyone is still at home and planning on going anywhere near Sudbury, Greenford or A40 around Greenford area......stay at home.
The whole area  is like a car park, with the A40 shut between Hangar Lane and Greenford due to an accident that happened around 4.30am.
Just took me 55mins to travel 5.5 miles, mainly on the wrong side of the road.
In short, it's the worst traffic I've encountered in a very long time.  :eek

Hi all,

I have an old fazer 600 donor engine sat outside.

It's knackered top and bottom, rusty, has no bits of value, is in 4 parts and obviously drained of all fluids.

Is it worth weighing in at a scrap metal merchants? What's it worth? Or do I just dump it at my council waste site?

Hi

I'm trying to sell my FZ1 and looked around at average prices and put it up for sale at £3,400. It is a 2007 model with some extras and is in a good clean condition.  So far I've had no interest, is the price too high?  What do people think a fair price would be?  It is in the For Sale section.

Been very quiet here of late so thought I'd ask people what if any winter projects they have lined up for their bikes.


I'm thinking of stripping the plastics and tank off so I can give them a good clean and also get to the nooks and crannies to makes sure everything is free of rust and corrosion (ACF50 where required), this will also make the electrics more accessible so I am thinking of going through all the connector blocks using some contact cleaner to clean them up and then painting some ACF50 on the connectors to keep the gremlins away. Might also take the swingarm off to give it a good clean and re-grease all the linkage and swingarm bearings. Does anyone have any recommendations for grease to use with bearings, I've just been using multi purpose stuff but don't know if there is anything that would be better.


Also does anyone know if you can get tapered feeler gauges at particular sizes i.e. .11mm through to .30mm as I'd like to recheck my valve clearances (probably next year) to get exact measurements without having to resort to using multiple guages to measure the gap. This would help to accurately figure out what shims I would need to get all of the clearances to the halfway point. I did a half arsed job last year and found that some clearances are pretty close to the limits but I'm not at 50K yet so plan to do a better job probably next year when I will have hit the 50K and am thinking I will need to re-shim.

Hi all, new member here o/ need your advice.

My Fazer600 "00 has been restricted at the carbs for a year now and I'm unsure if those are causing my problems. I've recently changed the spark plugs/carb rubbers/battery/fuel filter and cleaned out the old air filter with compressed air. It's ran fine up until Winter, the bike will start up when kept inside, but a few hours outdoors and I'm having to resort to bump starts to get going(with the old/new battery) I also have horrendous idling and bogging I've attempted to adjust idle mixtures but it doesn't make a difference. The bogging is really bad at low speeds/gears and there is a tonne of exhaust popping when downshifting no matter how often I try to adjust the mixture it doesn't help.

Extras : aftermarket exhaust, nice sound. Has spyball alarm, very good alarm and always reliable, had people trying to move my bike and alarm went off to alert me.  The bike is also has datatag.


Overall Bike Condition : used but in good working order.


Tyre/Chain/Sprocket Condition : tyres good, chain and sprockets good. 


Service History/Receipts/Recent Service work : some. I have owned the bike since Feb 2015, i have the receipts for any work done to it since I have owned it and there is some partial history.

Out of curiosity, any one out there like me, who never uses a GPS when going on Holidays by bike.

Definitely think the GPS takes all the fun out of going on holidays by bike, :eek

Taking the wrong route and finding out it is far better than the one a GPS would have taken you.
Getting lost and having to stop and ask direction only to have the fellow you are trying to speak to is stone deaf
Getting lost and having to stop and ask direction from a couple in a car and discover they are totally naked :
Nearly missing the ferry because you took a wrong turn
The fun in the high speed ride to get back on the right route and making the ferry by 5 minutes.
Going through Belgium for the first time and discovering they have the worst road signage in Europe.
Trying to find your way out of Mons in Belgium when both routes to the motorway are completely blocked by overturned trucks.
Discovering the sign for Paris in Belgium is also the road to Masstricht which is in the opposite direction.
Watching a fellow with a GPS getting into a total panic in Southern Spain because the GPS battery went flat

I think I will stick with the ould general area map, my €50 phone and my €80 Tablet with maps downloaded to it; way more fun and a lot cheaper than the GPS.
