  Removing fuel tank
Posted by: MikeBike - 27-02-18, 11:29 AM - Forum: General - Replies (15)

Hello guys.
I want to make my own simple maintenance for my FZS 600 1998-1999.
I downloaded the manual and it explains how to remove the fuel tank. I never removed a fuel tank and would feel more confortable if I see it first. Is there any video available that shows how to do it? Or if not, is it quite simple?
Thanks
Miguel

Thanks Robbo for the givi  bars , couldn't get hold of any supports brackets but ended up welding some supports on and bolting to the helmet holder hook holes ( after strengthening) I show what I did at the end of my video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSIlzkB7EkI

Can camera vans get you when facing towards you?
Posted by: Billy Balthorpe - 25-02-18, 11:26 PM - Forum: General - Replies (33)

As it says, if a camera van is facing towards you, can they get the camera laser speed detector to work through the windscreen or does it have to have a clear path?

Because they always have that little flap open, which they point the camera through at the back.

The 2018 FOC-U Bike Picture Challenge
Posted by: fazersharp - 25-02-18, 03:01 PM - Forum: General - Replies (90)

A reiteration of the rules.

1. All challenges must be of YOUR bike and a landmark, or something obscure or creative, something most people can ride to in their area.

2. Picture has to be taken after challenge is made.

3. Challenge is good for a week; if it is not met after that time, the previous picture poster picks a new challenge.

4. Nothing illegal to be challenged.

5. Keep comments to a minimum; if you comment, post the current challenge in bold type after your comment.

6. No repeat challenges.

7. No other bikes can be used, eg, your bike next to a Ducati. Some exceptions will be allowed, eg, your bike next to a bike cop.

8. Only 1 person can win each challenge; any other entrants will not be counted, due to throwing the whole game off track and adding challenges that don't stand.

9. If any dispute about a challenge occurs, 3 oks from others settles the challenge.

Remember, this thread is supposed to get people to want to go ride straight away and beat others to the challenge - be creative, but be sensible about it.

Have fun Foccers!

  Bike work bench Now sold
Posted by: steve 10562cc - 24-02-18, 08:46 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (8)

Bike work bench for sale built from plans. Constructed from 50mm box section & 50mm angle iron uses 4x4 trolley jack to raise and lower which is with it.  has a 19mm plywood work/platform on. Platform size  2400mm x 800mm, 4 platform working heights 190mm, 520mm, 660mm 760mm. My son did the welding which he does at work as part of his job. It's primed but needs a coat of paint. Built about 6 years ago to big for my garage at house just moved to. £75. It's pretty heavy so you will need trailer or van. Rebuilt XJR1300 and FJ1200 on it just to give you some idea of size.  Sorry no photos I can't work out how to post any (useless on computers)

Now gone to a good home

Boxeye fairing - needs a little love
Posted by: HarryHornby - 24-02-18, 12:06 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - No Replies

Hello all,

Would anyone be interested in my old Boxeye fairing?  It's solid apart from the repair that I sadly opened up again last year.  I've gaffa taped it on the inside and put clear waterproof tape out the outside.  If anyone's a bit handy with the old plastic welding it could make a good fairing again.  Postage is £12 according to Royal Mail so how about £40 posted?
