Just joined. Bought a 2000 Fazer 600 after a 15 year break from bikes, feels good to be back.
Last owner owned the bike for 19 years and has been looked after, it is overdue a service and needs a tyre. I’m sure I’ll find lots of useful advice on here.
Will be advertising on normal sites in few months, But if anyone is looking for a really clean honest 600 fazer 2008 (blue), it is available now, I will put a years MOT on.
Details:
- Mileage - 27k ,
- Hel black braided lines
- De-cat pipe fitted,
- Race tech Gold Valve Emulators and Springs fitted.
- Had 24K service , oil , plugs , air filter, valve clearances , brake fluid.
- New tyres and new front genuine Yamaha brake pads just fitted.
Accesories:
- Honda heated grips , Tinted high screen, Front fender extenda,
- Givi rack (top box available for extra),
Is it just me that thinks they are far too bright - the new cars that have led rear lights, they are so bright they look like constant brake lights and then when they brake it looks like fog lights - totally unnecessary IMO. And some seem to be a massive expanse of red - really big fat lights. And then at the same time seem to have tiny tiny indicators :rolleyes
Hello
Changing the fork oil on a friends bike, as it hasn't been done for 10 years. So I am going to remove the forks, from the bike. Then I'm just going to let the oil drain with the forks upside down for a day or two. The springs just come out, don't they? As I don't fancy stripping the forks down. Then spary in some brake and clucth cleaner leave for a bit to evporate then maybe splash a bit of Isopropoly alcohol to clean the whole system out.
Or am I being stupid.
If anyone can please help. Had the throttle cables out months ago, before finally getting round to valve adjustment and ais removal. Now its time to put back together,. when fitting the coolant pipes that go into the cam cover. The piece at the top which the throttle cables cross, do the throttle cables go over or under the tube/hose. Or does one go over and one under neither really looks right . Any help much appreciated.
Hello,
Jut thought to join as I have been searching your forum for information whilst I work on a friends v reg MK1 faired fazer.
So far I have bought some wizzmoto braided lines on the forums recommendation.
Does anyone have a Haynes manual pdf for the fzs1000? I had a look at the downloads section of this forum (as well as other fazer forums) and have not been able to find one.
Looking for a decent engine front bracket, in good condition, seen some on the bay but no better than my one! Just want to do one up, paint it etc for a quick swap come the better weather, also not really got the room for leaving things dismantled for days.
Hi, I went to start my 2003 FZS 1000 last night and she just spun up and didn't fire. Now I use the bike every day for work all weathers and she never misses a beat.
I left it a couple of minutes and tried again, she did eventually fire up. I then rode 40 miles home down the motorway and went to fill up ready for work again today.
Bearing in mind the engine was hot and fully up to temperature after the 40 mile ride, the same thing happened again. She spun over and over but wouldn't fire up.
I waited a minute and tried again, no luck. Last time and a big handful of throttle and she fired up!
Any ideas guys?
I put a new battery on a couple of months ago and it spins up with plenty of power, so I know the battery is fine.
I have a feeling it may be the fuel pump as it is a hot and cold start issue but if anyone else has experienced the same thing I'd be interested to know what you found.
