Hi,
Does anyone know what the inner diameter of the coolant tank pipe.
Mine looks to have started to show signs of it perishing.
So i was looking to replace the pipe but need to get the right size to fit onto the tank.

Just did a (too) quick adjustment of my chain, took it out for a test run around the block and when I got back it was hot to touch (goes tight-slack-tight-slack as the wheel turns) :eek
Its too unevenly worn to get in spec through its full rotation, so I'm looking at ordering a DID 530VX chain, but DID don't make split links for them. Last time I tried fitting a rivet link (on a DID 520 or 525VX), the head of the rivet failed and sheared sideways before mushrooming out to the expected diameter, I'm not sure if it was bad luck and I got a faulty link, the budget chain riveter I was using, or somehow my technique. Luckily a local shop had a split link for it.
Has anyone else had a chain rivet fail using one of the budget tools? I don't really want to spend £100+ on a professional riveting tool, but if thats what it takes...
Alternatively I could relive my 125 days and get a plain chain without any kind of seals...

OEM Clutch Cable

I have bought OEM parts from Boat.net in the past but looking at their web site they are only showing boat parts. Maybe I am looking in the wrong place?
I want to buy an OEM clutch cable, anywhere that can offer a bit of a deal?
Thanks

As I'm getting a new (17k miles) engine in my FZ6 (65k miles) can anyone tell me if this is liable to cause hassles with insurance renewals?
The insurance is up again literally next week, so I'd like to know the best way to do this to avoid having to pay stupid charges for something being changed...

Losing coolant in very hot conditions.

On my recent trip to the Spa Classic and the Black Forest, there were two occasions when some coolant was lost via the header tank overflow. Both times on hot sunny days stuck in traffic and limited to low speeds. I'm hoping the culprit is the radiator cap which has been ordered. However, although the fan operates within a few minutes on tick over from start up, as it should, is there a way of easily proving it would come on via the thermo switch in high heat conditions.
I know the manual suggests testing the resistance of the thermo switch in a pan of water at various temperatures, but wondered if there's a simpler way.

3K Tacho fault

On my Gen 1 1000, ive noticed occasionally that the tacho drops to zero, and then pops up and starts reading normally again, I thought it may have been a loose plug in the back of the clocks. Ive seen the 7K Exup fault lots of times before so i know how they are displayed. Then very recently i think the fault stayed around long enough for the fault code to be displayed properly, it went to 3K which i believe is a Throttle Position Sensor fault. Can anyone confirm this please?
Also, is it a matter of adjusting the position (if possible) of the sensor or are we talking about scrapping it and buying another one?
