Like a lot of people I have too many toys and not enough room , even the small jobs like adjusting the chain or servicing the exup becomes a pain working in the garage sandwiched between my classic car and the garage wall, banging head and elbows on everything that gets in the way , a single garage with 3 bikes , a car ,2 kayaks , tools and various household items that shouldn't be in there anyway :rolleyes Is never going to work......
time to sort things out , I have a brick built shed with concrete floor roughly 7ft square , easily takes 2 bikes but very little else , the two bikes I have in there are projects that I do a bit on every now and then so I camd up with a crazy idea of a stacking system , using scaffold tube , box section steel tube , 2 winches and some decking boards , it took me a while and it is a bit tight length wise but it works Couple of small jobs to finish off but its in use , just need to tidy the garage now
Hi I’m selling my gen 1 Fazer 1000.Its a late 2004 bike in silver with just under 11000 miles,MOT until April 2019,wants for nothing. Its taxed and insured so if you want to view bring your lid and I’ll take you out for a road test.
I know the previous owner who had it from new as a pre reg so know it’s complete history. He had a Meta alarm fitted from new and had Kais suspension to suit his 5’6” height,I put the factory dogbones back on when I bought it but have the lowered ones and will re-fit them if required.
All the consumables are good, meaty tyres, brake pads have loads left and chain & sprockets are good.
It has a Givi rack and monokey top box, hugger, stainless radiator guard, crash bungs (right one is scratched),Fuel stainless end can and a Kais lowered remote reservoir shock. It will come with the original end can,the original alloy grab handles and the lowering dog bones.
It starts on the button every time, all the gears are there with no jumping and the clutch is light and positive. The engine pulls strongly from low down and right through to the crazy zone with a willful hand.
The bad bits...has had a low speed drop and has a cracked and scraped fairing and scraped bar end,not recorded. It has a dent in the tank from a lump of wood falling on it in the garage. Some of the alloy cycle parts like the alloy pillion footrest hangers have a bit of corrosion.
£1750 ovno,call John on 07 and then 871840270 thanks.

I've not really had a good look at it yet, 'cos it's not an immediate problem, but i went to adjust the idle screw yesterday just a tiny bit and it would appear to be a bit seized up, it wouldn't really budge at all and i didn't want to force it.
But is there much to them?
Is it just a WD40 job?
My tickover is a fraction too high but not bothersome yet, so i was just wondering how i can free it up?
would anyone on here have a set of original, undamaged, Fazer 1000 handlebars, lying in a shed, or garage somewhere that I could buy/have ......pleeeaasse
I seem to remember some foccer on here saying that he got a good deal on a hotel and parking at Gatwick?
As I have an early flight my cunning plan is to arrive the night before, have a few leisurely beers, stay the night and then leave my car at the Hotel for the week.
Any recommendations?
hi ,
whats the best clear or LED indicators for a direct fit for the FZ1 ?
basically looking for plug n play so no messing around with wires etc.
cheers
Hi guys,
Sad times but I've barely used my '02 Fazer 600 in the past year so time to sell. The problem is the Fazer has been stood in a mate's garage since last autumn and now isn't running properly. It's ridable, but doesn't accelerate cleanly (it kinda 'chugs'). I've been told the carbs are probably blocked cos it's been stood so long. I'm no good at mechanical stuff myself, so would have to pay to get it fixed.
So my dilemma is: is it best to try and sell it cheap as it is, or pay possibly £200+ to get it in tip top condition and then sell?
I've no idea what the market is like for old gen 2 Fazers these days. I've looked at prices on eBay but they seem to vary hugely. A local bike dealer has offered me £750 for it. I don't mind letting it go cheap to avoid the faff of having the work done and selling it privately, but £750 seems ridiculously low!
